The higher number primary stat gems are unique equipped so you can have 1 of each name (not type but name). Same thing with the nightmare tear and speed gems. The multiple stat gems however are not unique equipped. So if you have sockets you can add them as much as you want.
The 3 3 multi stat gems get reduced down to 2 and 2
The 2 2 multi stat gems get reduced down to 1 and 1
The primary stat only gems get reduced to 3 primary stat and also give 2 armor
The nightmare tear when applied says +3 all stats but actually applies 2 to all primary stats (int/agi/str/stamina/armor)
The straddling viridium says 28 speed but gets reduced to 8
The straddling sage agate says 19 speed but gets reduced to 5
