1. Delete character.
2. Create new character with the same name, preferably DK, and on a different account.
3. Undelete character.

Nothing new here. Can be done once every 30 days.

I believe it now reserves your name for 30 days after deletion, so others can't take it.

I just tested it. So believe what ever you like. It won't make Great Father Winter bring the presents any faster, or the trolls on their giant mounts move out of the way.

Well, i have been doing this for a while, here is the thing, delete your character, use another account, create another character, do 1 quest and while you are online on your new char, restore your old and change his/her name. GG!

I didn't test it with a non DK. I just thought being a higher level might help.

Ya, makes it just fine, if the character is high level , your name wILL be changed, but if hes low, you will just waste a character return. =/ Tested it be4, thats why i said stay logged.

actually, I did this when the in game character restore feature was new. I was tryna get a free name change but somehow it bugged when i tried restoring my character. Basically, after i got the message saying I couldn't restore that character, then it used up my one 30 day restore, therefore bugging. I had to open a ticket to fix it and it \all went smooth from there. as you can see, Rapido is my new name. Only diff than before is there's no more ' ì ' for the i. Just make a ticket if it bugs, Blizzard wouldn't let your toon go bye-bye forever if it bugs.
