F2P worth it?

I was thinking it might be fun to make a f2p toon, but is it even worth useing a f2p account with 24 twinks? Also is one faction completly dominating the other? =3

as far as it is in US theres way more f2p 20s twinks than 24s. Come to Aerie Peak if you want in on premades of both factions but if you come to Aerie Peak chances is that you wont be getting AGM. Both factions are equal as far as i see but everyone joins different games and there will be bias opinions e.g more horde on twinkinfo play on Aerie Peak therefore more loses therefore more reports of loses. There are also quite alot of new players on both sides. This bracket may look trash but its better than 19s where you get conc shotted at from 10 miles AND have no mount to ride away from hunters.

If I don't care about premades, would you suggest I make it on my home server? I could get two agms here in like two days, lol.

haha

horde = fast queues

alliance = if you want to see me
<

If I go alliance I could be a sexy female human, but if I go horde I could be an even sexier male blood elf... Hmmm...

Thanks for the info. <3

Community on AP > AGM. I have a f2p on my main realm with 2 agm that I quit playing because there's few to play with it

If you don't premade as an F2P, then it isn't worth it, because you will run into 24s, massed hunters, or multiboxers. Pugging you will have game after game where they end up gy farming you thanks to poor teamwork, regardless of how good your gear may be. We do big premades and play well together, so can roll right over most of them.

That's a multiboxing hunter, one of them a 24, and the similarly named paladin was a 24 too.

If you don't premade as an F2P, then it isn't worth it, because you will run into 24s, hunters and multiboxers who are only interested in GY farming, that will ruin game after game, regardless of how good your gear may be.

I'd disagree with this, while some games are as described I find it's rather minimal, and does not occur nearly often enough to destroy my enjoyment of the bracket. The few games that are FUBARed because of boxers (cough*Navydew*cough) are made up for by those games where both sides roll a good team and have a good game.

Of course it remains to be seen as to whether I will retain this opinion after my hordie gets his dang hat and I can finally join games on the other side of the fence, where I've heard things are a little less green.

Edit: for typos >_>

idk yasueh games are even for me i play both horde and alliance. Though there are multiboxers like navydew who i run into once in a while which really pisses me off and spirestone premades. I mostly premade on alliance and pug alot and find that when i pug its usually 50-50 even games except if 24s are premading or if my team doesnt know how to counter multiboxers.

btw what kind of tactic did you guys use against that multiboxer? would like to know so i can use it against navydew

The above MB hunters are absolute trash. They'd be more effective if the guy simply ran a single 24 hunter. Also, while you won that game, you all died a lot, and frankly it didn't look like much fun to me. Anyway, random games are random. Some are great fun, others boring, others just painful and not worth your time. Working together in a premade against randoms sounds boring to me. Against another decent team, sure sounds good, but stomping random noobs is kinda pointless.

With Navydew, if they sucked as much as that guy, or the 9yo from Bleeding Hollow, then you don't need any tactics. They also don't have healers. Three F2P hunters, all geared and with decent resilience, all healed by a 24 resto shaman, good luck using "tactics" on that. If you want to beat Navy at WSG, then you need to avoid them. It's the only way. I've capped a few on them, but it's not really worth bothering anymore and I usually just leave. The same applies to AB. Avoid them, be aware of their location, and cap behind them. As for Spirestone, it depends how many of them there are. It's easy to stomp one or two of them, less so when all ten are there, healing and running back to each other for support. Usually I just blow CDs, take one or two out, and then leave.

F2P is worth every cent you pay. Like anything in this game, or life generally, it depends on the people you're doing it with. You'll find all kinds of people here just like you will anywhere else. Some you'll enjoy, others not.

  • Always let the team know exactly where they are on the map, and just avoid them. Use map pings constantly if you can't say in chat.

If you can't do that, take advantage of the fact that the group in many ways maneuvers a lot like an articulated truck:
  • One of their major weaknesses is the followers cannot easily be pointed towards a target, except by putting the leader in front of them (although the better boxers can switch leader at will), so always try and get behind them, or spread out around them.
  • Pick the group off from the rear and split them up by slowing/rooting/sapping some but not all of them. Warlock fear is probably the best because it can move members of the group out of follow range, so they have to be picked up manually.
  • Be willing to sacrifice a few people and bait the boxer towards where you want.
  • Drag them through the kind of scenery the followers can get snagged on. The leader may go around an obstacle, but the followers will walk right into it unless the leader makes the turn wide.

If you can get people in amongst them all:
  • Priest's AoE fear is the single most effective ability against a boxer, as it splits their group up completely, leaving them pretty much uncontrollable unless they quickly blow trinkets on their whole group to counter it before follow range is exceeded.
  • Mage's nova is also effective because of their weakness in turning the team when they are all rooted.

To be completely accurate, dying without a good reason. Dying because my team aren't playing in a way that matches my playstyle definitely isn't a good reason. Chasing that ridiculous AB resilient victory achievement, I died multiple times on.

One of my most epic deaths invloved a WSG game where the ENTIRE team and EFC were camping in their tunnel. The match was 0-0 and in the final moments I went around the side, got the boot, and one shotted the EFC. Unfortunately I died before I could click the flag, but that particular suicide run was a lot of fun, and well worth dying for. Just a shame my shitty latency prevented me from clicking the flag before I got smashed, AGM and LoH can't save you from getting ganked by nine people.

For all the spin you put on your story of taking on an FC in the middle of a full team of defence, it's a day to day event for anyone who plays a rogue. It's only epic to you because you have so little else to compare it to.

That's the point, as a rogue, surprise attacks are nothing special. I have often seen rogues return the flag when someone is trying to pass it to someone else, it's hilarious, but nothing unusual. A blitzkrieg style surprise giant paladin attack isn't something you see every day.

The number of times I've ran into an AP team of more than one or two would be pretty minimal. The number of times I've gone up against an AP team where my team weren't random trash is zero. Don't be surprised if I don't stick around to be CCed and then tapped to death while my useless team run at you single file.

Although i agree with what yasueh and others have said on the topic. Pugging as alliance is definitely easier on US than it is on horde. Although if either team has no healers you get rolled.
