Elemental Shaman - 3.1

I'm currently rolling out an elemental shaman for the next patch, solely for the purpose of the single talent change that will completely piss off everyone who gets caught in it. Storm, Earth, and Fire is being changed to Storm, Earth, and Fire . I'm looking for tips and guides on a 49 Elemental Shaman. I'm planning on putting points in Enhancement only for the increased range on Earthbind (Yes, I want to make people cry with 5 seconds roots). Tips, suggestions? I'm going LW for the Mail BoP pants.
 
hmm.. IMO LW is not that good for ele shaman as the Green Dragonscale Pants wil be pretty cool in 3.1.



I am currently in a process of levelling my 'ol 29 shaman for some 49 ele pew pew, and the profs i will take are 375 mining (done), and jewelcrafting (for this, and this mainly).

Engineering is fun too, but with the stoneclaw glyph and 5 sec root on earthbind i would just invest in JC to have moer SP and MP5 when needed.



As for the build Earth's Grasp is IMBA as it will not only increase the range of earthbind, but also incrase the damage absorbed by your glyphed stoneclaw's shield.



Glyphs - i would take Glyph of Stoneclaw Totem, and Glyph of Shocking for major, Glyph of Water Shield for minor.

just reigistered here,although i am reading the forums for a long time now.

Currently i'm playing a enhance sham on 49 bracket and will be respeccing to elemental once 3.1 is out.

Personally i'll prefer 3/3 Lightning Overload +2/2 Booming Echoes,combined with Major Glyph of Flame Shock. Can't wait to see some awesome dotticks !



Only thing is that i will miss instant Ghost Wolf,as i have always been speccing 33/7/0 for survivability.

As for the "Legs" Option i guess Windscale Sarong could be a good compensation for the loss of 35 SPD.
 
Earthbind and Stoneclaw are both Earth totems

If only you could drop a "protected/increased HP" Earthbind...

Almost all Earthbinds will be a focus priority (like they aren't already..)

I don't understand the last sentence.. Neither of those talents increases the effectiveness of the DoT, and the Glyph only increases the duration for another 2-3 ticks..

Unless you see something I don't?



Anyways.. a Hunter with Entrapment and Frost Trap plus a Shaman with Storm, Earth and Fire and Earthbind Totem will be able to frustrate an entire team. Throw in some Blizzards, Rain of Fire, Chain Lightning, Multi-Shots etcetc and you can gib horrifically
 
Dear god I wish I still had a live account ... I'd make the most annoying Shaman at 49 every (Run around in GW, pop out to drop a Totem to root everyone, Chain Lightning, GW back, run off to cp flag)



I'll look more into this when I get home. I know I looked into Glyph of Stoneclaw Totem before and only th higher ranks of Earthbind had the shield meaning that this glyph was useless to the lower tiers of twinking, but it looks like all Earthbinds now have the shiled bubble (At 49 its a 244 shield per totem and a 244*4=976 shield on you)

I roll with 500 Spell Power with Totem down.



2300 + Rumsey take me to ~2500 health. Post patch I lose all told about 25 SP, and will break even on health when I get BoE legs and new chest and lvl mining.

First thing I checked, though that range is ridiculous though. I remember not being able to kill the totems of the pig people in the barrens. I wonder if it reroots on a pulse. That would suck...



Volts, I know rogues that crit Ambush for 2600, how do u live?

You're right.Wrongly anticipated!But still... Frostshock spam inc. :)



If your Earthbind totem is stomped before the duration of the 5 sec. root effect wears off,will it break the snare immediately?

In my BG we have maybe 2 decent twink rogues, and one of them just levelled up.



Generally when I got ambushed by them it was the worlds fastest HK (if I lived though, they would have to vanish, or get kite-killed).



Otherwise, I don't actually have that many problems healthwise (though I have to kite alot).



Mana is also a huge problem for me, and I generally carry about 30 Mana pots with me. It's the biggest crutch for this gear set.



I made Volts to play in premades, so that I would be rolling with a healer, and provide more of an artillary / protect the healer role. Unfortunately all the good twinks hordeside 49 in Retaliation are moving up to 69's :/



Without 'zerker, I hit for about 700-800 normal, 1500-1600 crit, and top out about 1800-1900 crit with racial / trinket popped. So, the flip side of of getting ambush ganked, is I can pretty much 3 shot 90% of twinks.
