Draenei 2h-melee-fighter - Which class and spec?

Bengalosch

Legend
Hi there, i want to make a 2h-fighting darenei.

which way should i go? Arms/Fury-Warrior? Ret-Paladin? Prot? Other?

general question:

Which skill deals the most single-damage? (Mortal-Strike? Templars Verdict? etc...)

Which class has the most burst?

any other general advices?

questions for the warrior-way:

Wouldnt "Gift of the Naaru" + "Lifblood" + "Victory Rush" give some nice healing for a warrior?

How useful could heavy-stone statues become?

how much more interesting are all those heals in combination with "Field Dressing" (20% more heals)

from the Arms-tree?

thx for answers?

As a draenei paladin you won't need as much hit rating to cap which is nice. The 10 from eyepatch and wrists are enough to tip you over 5%. TV is by far the biggest hitting attack that any F2P melee has. Ret also has more burst than any other melee.

The racial heal isn't bad, but slow. Lifeblood heal is absolute trash and VR isn't that good, but better than nothing. If you want to be a warrior then you pretty much need to be fury and should consider NE for the SM racial which puts you out of combat so you can charge, otherwise you will be kited and die a lot. As 2H fury the extra hit from being a draenei isn't as important since fury gets enough hit to cap vs 20s and then some. The healing from statues, assuming you can find enough heavy stone (good luck with that) is minimal, as is the bonus healing from the talent. No point healing a little more if you can't catch your target, which as arms, is exactly what's going to happen.

Ah, did not realise you could, I was under the impression that you couldn't mine them at 100. I based that on reading someone else's comments here, not from personal experience. If it's possible to mine them at 100 then it's simple enough to get the stone, just time consuming.

Edit: Just looked it up. It used to require 125 but is now 100. They must have made mining easier to level recently along with all the other profs.

Yeah one of my addons (not sure if it is gatherer) still syas it requires 125

Arms has some pretty good burst, played it while being pre-bis and victory rush and excute did some high damage when they procced, got some 700 crits vs clothies.

Arms is the worst class for warriors tho, you will be kited a lot and this will be frustrating after a while.

Fury does decent damage and has a slow ( which is a must imo) bloodthirst doesnt have a cd which is kinda nice. You will see some 350-450 crits from bloodthirst when bis and you will see a lot of crits.

you can do pretty good vs hunters with fury, just get the charge and do some damage, put slow on him and predict where hes gonna disengage by already running towards that spot, do some more damage and rend him. if he gets away HT him and hes most probably dead.

Prot I use like a counter class when i get wsg pops where there are 3 priests or more. vengeance and shield slam will crit for around 500. same problem with arms but you will have more survivability.

You will hit like a truck once you reach someone which is quiet satisfying.

Long story short: go prot or fury when you roll a warrior.

Do you guys think warirors will be more or less viable MoP--as it currently stands? Warriors will lose Piercing Howl, but will get two charges, in combat. Arms will probably be the best spec: Charge-->Slam-->MS-->Charge-->Slam-->MS-->HT.

I think they'll be more viable even without a snare. Being able to use charge in combat will allow us to actually get on our target and being able to charge twice before incurring its cooldown means that we can get back on them even if they get away. I'll gladly give up piercing howl for that.

I'm not sure there is a "best" spec yet, but it does seem like they are defining specs by weapon type. Fury seems that it will require you to dual wield to make use of it. So Fury will be for DW (no longer for 2-h), Arms for 2-handers, and Protection for sword-n-board.

The introduction of Slam will definitely make Arms more powerful. But Fury definitely seems to have some pretty powerful abilities so I think it will still be comparable to Arms.

I love arms, awesome damage, nice bleed effects, awesome healing debuff. My 2 cents
