Discussion: which classes are better when party-sync'd down?

As someone with 100k HKs and 2200 arena exp on the rogue class, i can say without a doubt that a level 50 rogue (with no shadowland expansion) or 60 rogue is much better in the 20-29 bracket than a 20 vet toon, simply due to https://www.wowhead.com/spell=3408

Background: anyone with a high level toon can create a 20 toon on a trial account, then group queue into the 20-29 bracket.

Here is a guide on what's available when sync'd down, but it may be outdated.

I think it is a pretty fun mode of PVP to explore because many veterans have two accounts anyway.

The set-up:

Main account:

  1. AH toon
  2. high level toon for enchant/gem/prof support and some gold farming if the AH toon doesn't make enough gold for the monthly tokens
  3. high level PVP toon for party-sync 20-29 pvp

Vet account:

  1. veteran pvp toon
  2. placeholder 20 toon that forms party with the high level PVP toon (always afk out before the gates open)

You don't even need to accept the BG queue on the 20, so you avoid the deserter debuff, and the high level will still get in

good point! i feel stupid haha

this thread was made at 6:11pm CST, so your prediction was wrong?

i don't even see the point of the prediction, somehow you think i am trolling with my 2-h paladin, but i started doing this from way back, i would always find things that you can abuse at the cost of either slightly reduced stats (i.e., people would consider it inferior) or extra work/tuning

see examples:

https://xpoff.com/threads/resto-druid-two-piece-t5-god-mode.28519/

https://xpoff.com/threads/11-second-sprint-37-5-increase.38397/

i have been using a macro to use 1-key (the S key) to switch between 1-h+shield and runeblade (for the mini sprint), I love it and think all hpals should try it out.

the https://www.wowhead.com/spell=159671/mark-of-warsong#comments buff that my runeblade offers even stays after weapon swap.

After a the games I have played I found monk to be pretty strong when synced down, like strong enough to give me some trouble on my priest as disc. before conduits and stuff were removed they could straight up drop me.

Balance druid with Night Fae for Convoke is an obvious thing to try.

After buffs to Necrolord's shield, all glass cannon specs with Necrolord, too.

Do legendaries work, btw? (If they do, maaaaan, plenty of interesting stuff. Ie, guardian legendary that gives cc immunity.)

Frankly, though, I haven't been impressed with level 60s in level 20 bgs so far. My scale of power is: vet twinks > f2p twinks > scaled down level 60s = vet levelers in enchanted heirlooms > levelers made by new players or players new to the spec or new to pvp, with or without a sub. I don't think 9.0.5 will change much. (What might shake things up is 9.1. If they do WoD-style gear *and* extend this to all levels instead of just to level 60.)

So I saw this mentioned in a couple videos, and they talked about when PvP gear scaled in instanced PvP to be "better" than PvE gear, but then scaled back down outside PvP to be total crap and not worth getting for PvE... that makes sense.

I dont remember exactly when they did that, but it would have zero affect on lower PvP and I could see that being done.

edit- just endgame PvP gear, not anything else would scale.
