[deprecated] TWW 70s Guide & Armory

I heard some lv80 rogues say they couldn't unlock the boxes?
All the boxes we've seen so far required Lockpicking 75 to unlock regardless of the level required to actually open the box. Both the 75 and 80 rogues were able to unlock them. I was also able to unlock them on my level 70 jewelcrafter using the legion Jeweled Lockpick, although that's obviously not intended. Our initial thought was to try a quality over quantity approach (elites, rares, delves, dungeons), but then we ended up settling on the exact opposite due to lackluster results. As far as I can tell, every humanoid NPC has or should have a worthwhile chance to have a box in their pockets. If you have more luck with the stronger foes, we'd love to hear about it.

I've so far found the same to be true; since Blizz doesn't consider the lockboxes to be anything special, it seems the drop chance is basically the same regardless of which rarity/importance the humanoid mob is. There are luckily quite a few high-density locations to slink around the new zones, so I've had the most success with those areas. Hopefully my favorite spots don't happen to be where your partner farms, but if I see others in the same area, I'll fly to some other spots.

Cheers!

Oh, it's not her you will see, it's this :p:

Totally understandable, and thanks for the experiments!

I've since found a few spots with plenty of pickpocket-able mobs, though I'm not sure whether I should focus on rares, elites, or if ALL targetable mobs have a worthwhile chance to drop the loot, so I'll keep at it. No boxes from these areas I've found so far (still just the two from dungeons).

I ranked BS on my main to craft the keys (I heard some lv80 rogues say they couldn't unlock the boxes? if anyone can confirm this was their user-error, I'll level another rogue lol), and I've got an alt who's about to ding 75, so I'll send all my boxes for him to open. Wish me luck, and I'm doing the same for all of you experimenting out there!
ive been pick pocketing every humanoid mob and have looted 3 bismuth box from level 70-75. not sure if kobolds or murlocks are better. all 3 once unlocked had 515 pieces in them.

are these meant for lvl70 still ? or they change to a min lvl requirement once bought off AH ?
They still work for that login session yes, but once they're in your inventory they fix on relog. They don't change on the AH; folks just grab them from the mail and instantly repost them before they log, and the iLvL is preserved.

As Coolzo pointed out they will get fixed on relog if its in your inventory. You can bypass this by placing them into void storage before you log out.

This comes with some obvious drawbacks as you would need to re-enchant and re-gem everything when you take it back out and hope for no disconnects. Its too finicky for me but if someone has some 545s stashed somewhere maybe they can use this to get more than one login session out of them.

what i meant earlier was, if it still remains 545 after equip, like buy it from AH and equip straight away .. but i dont see anyone using it

Chromie can be healed with TWW bandages for 3 mil hp usualy heals her up full and better to heal when she cast shield (no interupt damage eg small shield like priest one not final one )
PS: solo heroic, mythic prob not case

Anyone else preparing their upcoming level 80 twinks? I'm trying to get my old 70 to current last-patch BiS. Carrying myself through lv11 Delves for Heroic Vault and Gilded Crests, getting Cartel Chips for the raid boots, etc. I figure if get to the point where I can blast Normal dungeons with as much ease as when we were locked to 70, it'll be a good head-start once MN launches.

Well they'll only be (potentially) useful/relevant during Midnight, so like 1.5-2 years. When TLT prepatch hits, they'll get unlocked to level to 90. If the goal is leveling friends/alts on your main account (avoiding the XP debuff of XP-locked party members), this time is all we've got. It doesn't look great though, tbh.

My 70 would rip-n-tear during TWW, but the same toon with lv80 Hero tier gear is lackluster. Does similar or less damage than my 11 Fury, while being SUPER squishy with big pulls outside of main CDs, and that's with tons of leech (for the level). I think the lack of a "bonus iLv" tier like DF had (season 4) plus the stat squish impacted scaling way harder, so only time will tell if I wasted weeks of my time gearing this toon or not. =\
