Dark Iron Sunderer - Anyone try it?

So I was looking at weapon procs on wowhead and this one looked interesting:

https://www.wowhead.com/item=11607/dark-iron-sunderer

A proc that reduces armor by 264. A fully geared plate twink doesn't even have that much armor at 59.

So has anyone tried this weapon? Does it work? If it does work, is it possible for someone to have negative armor? If so, could you get two of these and have it proc twice reducing your targets armor by 528?

Procs like this are unreliable. It might proc on someone with 10% HP left and then not proc at all when you actually need it.

Plus everything, other than disc, die so fast that it wouldn't make much of a difference

Better off with a weapon that has stats imo

Are they unreliable though? What if the proc chance is 50% with no internal cooldown? Seems like it's at least worth some investigating.

If negative armor is a thing and you can proc it twice we might be looking at a ~50% damage increase on physical attacks.

On my 60 FDK I run Dazzling Longsword and Bashguuder, both of them have armor sundering procs. The procs do stack providing a lot of extra damage and do not have ICD, but the damage does not go beyond whatever DR from armor the target has. So no negative armor.

Also, like the previous poster said, the proc is not reliable even dual wielding on a fast attack spec like FDK. Even without apparent ICD I've never got any significant advantage from it inside ipvp because things just die too fast and I barely get a stack before the enemy is dead. Sunder is more of a pve thing, sadly.

Those Effects are disabled inside PvP. At every level. Else i could slash everything with double basguuder.

No negative armor? Well that's too bad.

So if that's the case it wouldn't make sense to have more than one. But still, I don't see any reason to assume the proc rate is the same as the weapons you're using. I mean they very well may be, but if the proc rate is high enough to be reliable, say 25% or more, then we could still be looking at a 15%-35% damage increase depending on your targets armor class. Or something like that. Idk what a clothies damage reduction from armor would be or a plate wearer's.

You've tested this recently? If that's the case then that throws that whole idea out the window.

It has a 20 sec duration, there's just no way that it has a high proc chance.

If you could guarantee it to proc on a tough target like disc, it could be great, but it will most likely proc on some random hunter who's about to die anyway.

Any debuff with long duration won't be very useful when most targets drop in 5 seconds.

Rivenspike stacks 3 times at 171 armor, procs more often and has a longer duration.

I guess it's 1-handed though.

Rivenspike,, ahnihilator and basguuder all has same proc and its fine IF u wear both.

But they aint working in bgs. Whats ur problem

The damage increase is pretty large (around +30-40% on the level 60 dummy), but the proc rate is low--I'd estimate about 0.2 PPM, or 1% chance per hit.

If the proc rate were higher, then it'd be a reliable dps increase. But an unpredictable proc on an effect that really needs to be predictable... meh. Slapping it on random half-dead rogues is not going to contribute much. There are better options.
