Computer Problems

Ok, so lately my computer hasn't been wanting to work with me. Its gotten to the point where I almost can't play the game anymore because the lag is slowly getting worse and worse. My computer is running slower and even takes it upon itself to randomly shut down sometimes. I don't know a whole lot about computers so does anyone know of a way to make it run a lil faster? Something I can download that'll clean out all the shit from my computer? I've tried to limit my startups and what not as well but I'm not sure what to stop and what not to. I don't want to screw it up or anything.

Also, if anyone knows of a spyware or something to help protect my computer that would be amazing as well seeing as I don't currently have anything. Yes yes I know I should, but I've never had a problem with it and everything I always download has tons of pop ups, messes with stuff I don't want it messing with, and just isn't that great.

Any suggestions at all would be amazing.

Buy a can of compressed air, open up the computer and look for big clumps of dust (you'll be surpised, trust me) and simply blow them out. I had exactly the same problem and with problems liketeese you'll usually find it is hardware problems not software. If Ishh's suggestion doesn't work, definetley try this.

His PC should be making a lot of noise if that's the case though.

my computer definately became at least a bit faster after clearing out dust, and it wasn't making noise

another decent suggestion is to remove some programs you don't use. my computer was recently hacked and i got it wiped, and now that there's nothing on it except for WoW and the usual microsoft stuff, and it runs even quicker than the time before the virus was on it.

I'll definitely try the dust thing. I have a can of compressed air. I'll take the computer apart tomorrow and try it out.

There's nothing wrong with that log. There isn't any spyware on your pc, safe for trackingcookies ofcourse. You can always check for spyware with Malwarebytes though, it's free and it's good:

So yeah, definately check for dust. If a virus isn't causing the restarts then overheating is. You can also run a defrag overnight if you haven't done that in awhile.

HijackThis

MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware

Combofix

Spybot

All really decent & free to clear up any errant bits infecting your pc
