Classic Enchanting - Can't get any Strange Dust from DE bought items

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to level my F2P character's Classic Enchanting. I've read the baseline guide and started buying items at the SW vendor (Richter). But I'm only getting lesser magic essences and illusion dust, no Strange Dust... Am I doing something wrong? Is there a specific item that's giving the Strange Dust on DE? I've disenchanted at least 100 items and nothing!

Any other advice to level Classic Enchanting?? I'm stuck at 40, and disenchanting items seems to not being leveling it anymore...

Hi! I remember someone reported this a long time ago but I never got to testing it to confirm if it's an actual change. You reporting it as well means it most certainly was changed for whatever reason. In this case, I would try running low-level classic dungeons (or TW ?) and DE the drops, should be pretty fast grind.
 
You'll only get illusion dust and magic essence from the vendor. Which is good! Once you hit 100 enchanting, there's no more grind

Your options to get to 100, however, are kinda rough. You can level enchanting alongside tailoring and use a relic of the past to lower the ilvl of like... Cloth belts and DE those.

Or if you're on an established f2p and only have one prof slot to work with you can do what I did and camp an enchanting vendor and buy out their stock every 5ish minutes

You'll need 130ish strange dust to get to enchanting 100 and then it's all illusion dust and you can just spam buy from the expedition gear vendor all the way to 300

Did I miss something (probably)? Illusion dust and magic essence from the vendor?
 
you need to do a enchanting vendor loop. look up strange dust and start shopping.

old dalaran has 3 vendors, shattrah has 3 or 4, etc.

if you are able to solo classic dungeons like stockades do that, or you need to be in classic/cata time using LFD.

imo right now you should be running the hell out of TWW, the DE mats large brilliant shards, illusion dust and magic essence from those are way more important than strange dust and the low level essence.
 
Crafted gear, early green items(disenchantable items, so not shirts, etc) in any crafted profession will give you strange dust and magic essence.

I chose brown linen pants from tailoring. linen cloth on my server is pretty cheap and i have tons from farming timewalking. de'ing items from dungeons won't work. You'll only get max level classic reagents like eternal essence and illusion dust

Not sure what was going on with me, but as of the week before winter veil if you use a relic it gives RICH illusion dust and the eternal essence only, nothing lesser. Which was nice, since i could DE brown linen pants and whatnot and get mats for 300 enchanting
