[US] <Champions of Ulduar> Recruiting 80 Twinks

Introduction

One of the very first wrath raiding guilds founded on 2/26/11 during the tier 11 progress of cataclysm.

This guild is aimed at containing authenticity, challenge both old and new, and constant motion of progression and raiding itself.

We founded this guild to relive our past memories or encounter new ones. Some of us herald from the the top guilds of WoW. Some of us come from a week subscription ago. Both new and veterans are to be found here and any are welcome with a strive & devotion to the 80 content.

Basic Info

Realm: Fizzcrank (US)

Faction: Horde

Guild Level: 1

Guild Type: 80 Twinking/Raiding

Objectives: WotLK raiding (including Herald of the Titans)

Raid Times: Friday, Saturday, looking to add a third (8:00pm - 11pm occasioanlly 12am realm time)

Website: www.championsofulduar.guildlaunch.com

Guild Master: Angarin

Recruitment

We're well accepting any new players & veterans who are interested in the wotlk content. Its very fortunate for us to find devoted ones and we hold quite a few. We have a few transfers but we're taking any class/spec and we raid every friday/saturday if at least 3 people show up, 100% gurantee.

We're actively seeking the following classes as we're currently in short supply of them:

Tanks: 1-2 of any class (1 for 10m, 2 for 25m)

Healers: 2-6 of any class (specifically holy paladin, resto druid, disc/holy priest)

DPS: 15+ We're very short on dps and we're willing to take any but this could change at a moments notice

We hold very few flasks and use them for those hard to beat bosses. We are working on an alchemist and any are welcome. Food will be provided for progression raids only. Gold for repairs is not provided at this moment until the guild has reached level 6 (the perk is at 5 but we need money to stock up on). We provide green gems only and enchants arent yet provided but they add an extra challenge. Items commonly dropped will be handed out like cookies but epics/rare blues will be given out to selected people

Requirements

We are a relaxed but devoted guild but we still have a few requirements:

You must be active and reliable. We expect you to be able to attend at least 2 raids a week, and if you sign up you should be online in time.

You must have a good knowledge of your class. That includes knowing what stats are best for you and what spells you can use to help in certain raiding scenarios.

You must have 2 different specs and sufficient gear/skill to use them. We don't force anyone to change their main-spec, but in return we will require you to use your off-spec sometimes. This includes mages/warlocks/hunters for certain situations.

You don't need to know the tactics for all bosses but you should at least know the basics of raiding (eg. don't stand in fire, don't stand in front of a dragon etc). Strategies & explanations will be given if necessary

You must be raid aware. This means the ability to listen and follow instructions, as well as learning from your mistakes.

You must have ventrilo (it's a free voice chat program). Having a microphone is a bonus, but not required.

It is recommended for you to have 2 sets of gear. A gear set for the appropriate raiding tier we're in. For example we're currently in ulduar 10m. We expect everyone to start out in nothing but boe's that cannot be above 219 & above or 213/200 gear. No gear above 219 will be allowed and again any 219 gear must be boe's. And the second gear set we require is a 251+ set. It cannot contain any cataclysm greens. I must be icecrown citadel level of 10/25m normal or 10/25m heroic. Either or. This gear set will be used on days when people decide they dont need to show up for raids and we'll either go back a tier or clear certain bosses. Keep in mind anybody found with this gear level and if we're not in icc will result in the entire loot table from that boss being d/e'ed or sold for the guild bank. NO exceptions.

Restrictions

Pugging is strictly enforced. The word enforced means no weekly pugs, no pugging raids a tier above us, at our current level, and any tiers below us in the wrath expansion. For example, we're in ulduar. Nobody is allowed to pug toc, ulduar, naxx raids. No exceptions. Once we re in toc nobody is allowed to pug icc. At this moment icc pugs are allowed to happen but until then I'm not worried about it as long as they remember the gear rule.

When we enter a raid I will say one of two things of the very first things. Either A, this is an appropriate gear level raid, everybody throw that gear on, leave the XXX+ gear off. Or B, this is a FFA (free for all) raid. Where what you want, as long as you can hold yourself up & kill bosses whatever. (remember not cataclysm greens). If anybody is found using above gear in an appropriate gear raid you will have two (2) strikes only. The first one is a warning and no loot for 7 days. No exceptions, even if your full time and a bis piece drops it will be d/e'ed or handed to the next person. This makes sure you know how serious we are about this. Strike 2 will result in an immediate guild kick, raid removal and any "won" loot will be automatically passed from you. You will not be allowed to reenter the guild after your second (2nd) strike. Again this is to show you how serious we are about this.

Accomplishments

As progress goes we've only managed to down sartharion 10m. We did manage to do it with 2 tanks, 2 healers & 1 dps. This was in 200/213 gear alone and it was very long & very challenging for everybody. This doesnt sound like an accomplishment but once you do it yourself you'll see the difficulty among it. We managed to down anub'rekhan to 2% before he enraged and we're surely able to do it now. For every quarter we wipe out in naxx we'll add another boss to our entry level ulduar. Clearing all 4 quarters + the last 2 bosses will mean to us that we can open up all of siege, iron council and kologarn. This is to make sure we clear naxx before we heavily progress into ulduar but naxx + ulduar is still our main focus.

As of last night we cleared os10m as usual, we were going to do os10m+1d but we had a dps absent for it so we decided to do just a normal clear, we ended up clearing plague & spider quarter with a patchwerk kill. We wont count these as our tank was wearing a couple icc items along with our dk dps. We're making it our goal to gear everybody up in 200 gear this weekend and by tomorrow night or next weekend we should be good to start counting progression.

We're still recruiting & looking for

Full time

1 tank (preferablly anything but paladin)

1 healer (preferred holy paladin, but holy/disc priest or resto shaman will do)

2-4 dps (warrior, hunter, warlock, paladin, priest)

We recruit anybody part timers/reservists as long as they stay within our restriction of staying at or below 80.

If you have any questions please email championsofulduar@gmail.com or contact me here or in-game (angarin)

Thanks

Champions of Ulduar has gone under some recent trimmings of our roster to rid of the unwanted & bad players. These people were removed for utter failure to learn from they're mistakes or unable to perform as well as we want after being asked to basically "l2p". In doing so the following positions are available for our core 10m team. In addition we will be forming a 2nd 10m team for alts & such and for full time 10m raiding for people who prefer the 10m atmosphere and for of course alts. 25m raids are and will be soon our focus when we pick up about at least 15 members for os/naxx/eoe 25m as we expect 15+ people who are competent and skilled with knowledge are able to do this. If os10m 0d can be 5 manned in naxx gear then we can do it with 15 people in ulduar gear.

1 stable tank (preferred druid or death knight)

1 stable healer (preferred disc/holy priest or resto shaman)

2 stable pure dps (mage, hunter, warlock)

1 stable dps with tank off spec (warrior, death knight, druid, paladin)

1 stable dps with raid heal off spec (shaman, priest, druid)

Notice how I put stable in between each one. We're quite tired of people showing to 1-2 raids then stop coming because its not faceroll like everybody told them it was once icc came out.

RIGHT icc came out, naxx mechanics went out the window, os was a freaking joke (it still is to a point but void zones hurt, fire walls hurt, & enraged fire adds definitely hurt in numbers)

Well they're tired of people deciding to show up when they feel like it. We need people who can make thursday/friday/saturday raids starting at

8pm central server time going until 11pm central server time each night.

Tuesday nights are generally farm content nights so we usually clear 95% of naxx. Such as we did naxx tuesday night, cleared everything except gluth/thaddius (including kel'thuzad & sapphiron)

We're going to attempt to create a group 2 for ulduar but for naxx/os/eoe we'll be merging into a 25m group. We can almost easily do os25m with 8-10 people so its easily doable with 15+ people and same can be said for most of naxx if dps meet the numbers.

What we require from each member?

Make raids, be on vent and online 15 minutes before raid and expect to be pulling at 8pm. There will be 2 breaks during raid time. If 10 or more people are in the raid group we will take 2 10 minute breaks at 9pm and 10pm. If 9 or less are in the raid group 2 5 minute breaks will be taken at 9pm & 10pm. People who are not back by the ready check at the end of the break (it will be marked on your dbm) will be docked 1500 EP. Thats almost an entire boss kill's worth of EP. Wasting others time isnt a joke and will not be tolerated in this guild.

What we require from certain roles specifically?

Tanks - Abillity to know when you should be using cooldowns, make sure that your assigned trash packs have aggro on you 100% of the time. If dps pull dont bitch and just taunt. If it becomes an issue the raid leader will sort it out.

Healers - Ability to use cd's on tanks & other members when needed. If a member is being melee'ed by a mob or 2 and your a holy paladin...hand of protection. If a tank is taking quite a bit of damage and you can spare 30% of your health, hand of sacrifice. If a dps is rising on threat meters and you can spare a GCD hand of salvation. I use a paladin as an example because I've been playing one forever but other healing classes have some cd's of both the same & different objective. Its your job to figure out how to play your class, not others to make you learn it.

Dps - If your assigned to kill anything in specific do it. If your attacking the "X" when a "skull" is still up and you werent told to attack "X" first your doing it wrong and your probably gonna get scolded.

Hunters/Mages/Dk's - On some occasions these classes will be told to kite mobs. Our priorities are usually death knight>mage>hunters. If you are asked to kite expect to do it and if you refuse unless you have a good reason you will be asked again. If you refuse again you will most likely be replaced, removed from raid group for the night, or docked a good amount of EP. We dont do things to be assholes, we do it for the best interest in the raid group. If we know you cant kite and your trying your best, then we wont ask you to kite again obviously.

Vent Chatter - This is becoming an issue that I'm going to resolve ASAP. When a raid leader is assigning roles, speaking about the raid, or pretty much leading in any manner, vent had better be clear. We require all members to have push to talk on and if they dont it'd better be quiet on their end from outside noises such as music, TV, fans, breathing, etc. If this becomes an issue we will handle it in a way we find necessary.

We are getting serious during raid time, but outside of raids we have our fun, we joke around, we harass each other. We all have thick skins and we expect you to as well. If you get criticism and dont take it, some improvements better be made otherwise. If a member is harassing you and it offends you please visit an officer and we will handle it.

These changes will go in effect as of sunday night. Please do not be alarmed, we are still very laid back but we are tired of having people treat this as a parking garage for toons and show up whenever they feel like it. We are dedicated raiding guild just as much as an 85 guild in heroic firelands. We try to push for our best and we are going to aim for the toughest achievements whether we physically will be able to add them on our achievement list or not within the game.

OS+3d (10/25m in 213 gear)

Herald of the titans

Yogg 0 light (10/25m in max of 239 gear)

Grand Crusader (max of 258 gear, no icc gear)

ICC ( 0% buff...yeah, its coming and we're going to inspect all 25 members of our raid just so we know it)
