Cataclysm Guild Changes affects on twinks

In cataclysm it has been announced that there will be guild talents and crafted BoA items only used by guild members. Guilds get points to put towards these through "guild levels" which are gained by members of the guild leveling, winning rated BGs/Arenas, or defeating bosses in instances with 75% of the raid/group being in the guild. Shown in the video below.

The video suggests that you get these points mainly through raid bosses in instancing, and my main not being a raider and me not having the time to raid will leave my twink "crippled" by these changes in cataclysm, I do not want to PvP at 80 either and also twink guilds will be at a huge disadvantage by not having the guild levels, talents or level to have the right skill level to craft these BoAs. Even if you are in a raiding guild however, or I join one, it is unlikely that the guild leader will want to invest guild points to help twinks, through talents and gear.

A solution I have thought of is to make a "hybrid" twink guild where level 80s (or 85s) can join, but can only access higher ranks if they have active twinks in the guild, and then grind guild points and levels and spend them solely on talents and BoA gear benefitting the twinks in the guild, however I feel that for this to work there will need to be an active twink community on one server.

I feel that blizzard have once again made life hard for twinking (or at least for twinks to be perfectly geared/specced) and made it harder for people who do not have mains in good guilds to get good twinks. Sorry for such a long rant but just putting it out there, feel free to comment with any ideas/your opinions on this problemo.

Bump........

You can still get guild ranks by questing and PvP even at 19.Correct me if Im wrong, I didnt here him say you have to be 80 to do this stuff.

You could farm a boss over and over again to get guild rep.

So. Dont really see anything bad about this.

Just a little more challenging to get heirlooms.

can 19s do rated bg's i remember something with that then all 19 twink guilds do premades and get guild ranks have a few 85s to make bind on guilds and on guild talent tree spec into the ones that benefit PvP if thats the case problem solved

If rated BGs are 19 I guess it would be sorted, just wasnt sure if 19 was "rated", also having BGs where 75% of twinks are in the same guild could be a challenge but yeah i see your points, ty.

No 19s can't do rated BGs. /sigh

Get over it. Blizzard has said that they don't support twinks but on the same hand don't condemn them. They aren't trying to make the game easier for us, or balancing the game around twink PvP. It's a known fact that they try and do everything possible to make it easier on the casual, level capped person and balance the classes at the level cap. They aren't going to go out of their way just to make things easier on twinks.

i can see twinks paying massive amounts of gold to get in the guild to get the bind on guild and pvp beneficial talents

There are no pvp beneficial guild talents, unless you count 5% extra honor as beneficial to a twink.

Twinks will have no problem with this, its not an end game only thing or peoples alts would be screwed and nobody would join a guild until they're 85.

Your guild will get experience from its members questing, doing pvp, dungeons etc.... EVERYONE can contribute to this not just the 85's. Twink guilds will be able to level their guilds, maybe not as fast as the hardcore raiding guilds but they will get there. Blizzard already stated they're not aiming this at the top guilds and that EVERY guild will be able to level no matter how small or what area of the game they do.

The rewards (heirlooms etc...) will be unlocked when you reach a specific rank or complete a guild achievement, since the heirlooms are likely one of, if not the most basic reward (allowing your members to level faster and contribute to the guild levelling faster only really makes sense as an early tier reward) its unlikely twink guilds will struggle to get their hands on them.
