Brewmaster Monks are the new CC Class?

  • So after looking at the mechanics of Brewmaster Monks, would they possibly be the next CC class?

They have a Spammable AoE CC that reduces their movement speed by 50% AND has a 3% to make their attacks misfire and hit themselves(lol).
They have a charge that causes an AoE Stun; it lasts 4 Seconds.
They have an AoE-Cone Ability that is very similar to Cold of Cone(Frost Mage) but instead of Slows them, it puts a DoT on them if they are affected by Dizzy Haze(this will be good to keep stealthers from re-stealthing.
They have a boat load of Stamina, Armor, Dmg Reduction, and Crit Reduction.
They have Mobility that is/almost as good as a Druids in Travel Form.
They also have a Kegsmash ability(8sec CD). An Targeted-AoE Ability that does AoE Dmg + Dizzy Haze + Weakened Blow affect.

You could use this to gain massive amounts of ToT on Offense or Instant Peels for your FC when they need to kite. And this is one of the few classes that can actually keep up with a Rdruid FC and keep them slowed at all times!

What do ya'll think? They are basically the new BC-Frost Mages.

    Yep.

I haven't just figured it out, I just never made a post about it.

    What I haven't figured out is why p2p 20s haven't rolled one yet O_O

Actually Swoops has a lvl 20 monk and it is very op..

    As do I.

Comparatively speaking to other *OP* classes... the damage is certainly less. The utility is there. But solo'ing ability (hello pugs!) isn't always top notch.

That doesn't mean it's not fun and/or useful.

I tried Brewmaster out it's pretty bad aside from the aoe snare, I just moved over to Mistweaver

I think Brewmaster Monk is the greatest counter to the mobility imbalance in the bracket. They really maximize the effectiveness of melee classes, and a good one is an invaluable teammate in my opinion (especially if you have warriors in your comp).

Still can't beat Criplling/Evasion and Travel form. Monks are a terrible gimmick class and people don't really care if they can't do proper damage in conjunction.

This is ok, but paladins have roflhammer ^:D

And monk can be easily kited, especially 20 p2p, they aren't so good what makes 24 monks OP is the large range of BiS items they can use. - Ska Ceeltoor

Easily kite a Monk? I would say they are the hardest to kite class around actually, other than Druids ofc.
