Brazilian Players

Talok

Legend
Sup folks, I was checking a forum in wow asking what could be done to lower the awful fame brazilian players have. A newspaper from my country even made a subject about it and gave some examples of our behavior in mmos and 1st person shooting games, such like:

1- Beggars : Instead of playing the game correctly to get money, br players would rather ask for money and old items. They even fight for "begging places"

2- Robbery: the famous "Gibe monei plox or I report you"

3-Creative Mendicants: make poems and simulates dances to recieve easy money

4- Friendly Fire: Just join the match to make it a mess and, when possible, to kill the entire team

5- BR? BR? BR?: Spamming this to search for other brazilian players and distubing the communication of all players.

I think that one of the great problems is that many brazilians don't know how to speak english (in wow, even their portuguese is terrible) and, as they don't understand the mechanics of the game, they make a big mess wherever they appear.

I decided to leave my old server Gallywix and move to BWL, cause I knew that there I wouldn't have the opportunity to grow in game and their gamestyle just didn't fit mine (I never rolled a BE prot pally).

So I'd like to know what have you presenced in games (mainly in wow) about my country mates and their Elemental de Agua/Ave de Rapina, and what could be done to reverse this situation, if possible.

Here is a link to a vid that simulates Brs in action hAUEHUAEHAUEHuAEHU BR BR? - YouTube

Heh, Hindu, didn't realize you were from the Brazilian realms

It's funny (Odd) how I see Brazilians complain about Brazilian players (Not just you complaining, I used google translate and visited Brazil's WoW forums and there's a good amount of hate towards their own players)

I think that the Brazilian F2Ps would play a lot better if the F2Ps gathered into one F2P community, possibly by showing them F2Paddon. Communities can turn noobs into great players because sometimes I see awesome Brazilian F2Ps and if they can get into contact with the rest of the F2Ps, imagine how better things can be.

But yeah, it really is a problem how bad they're playing. We need to approach this problem with a positive attitude or something and try to change it like I suggested instead of with a negative attitude. I'm all okay with new players in battlegrounds but when it's thousands of new players who don't care about getting better, then it gets bad.

Cultural Relativism.

Your almost painting it that its the job of the english speakers to uplift these Brazilians who seem to be stuck in the mud with their awful play style(blatant exaggeration but you get the point)

It would be better in my opinion to just have no interaction between the Spanish realms and the English realms... I mean how stupid is it to separate realms based on clear differences in speech... then recombine them in battlegrounds where you have to communicate to get anywhere! Makes 0 sense.

Im not saying that the players dont appear to be bad, because to me 90+% just seem to be jahoo's, im just saying its not the problem of people who placed themselves in English speaking realms. I think you made a good decision going to BWL if you wanted a change of scenery.

latin players are more RP than hardcore gamers. after all - they have some of the best xmogs i have ever seen. and they are constantly flirting with my mage (granted - i do play a female with my jugs pouring out. but we aren't talking about me)

as a rule of thumb - those who speak english will ignore the BG chat. those i have spoken to in spanish mostly ignore me anyway. but if i can actually get their attention - they are very nice and cordial.

i don't think they are bad players, per se.....i just think RP should be separate from gamers. that being said...i will totally bail on a BG that has me stuck with a team of jaja's.

I don't see anything wrong with finding someone whos also from Br.
there are chinese looking for a chinese majority guild in us server.
They are looking for companions, so they won't feel like playing single player game.

Everything you said sound familiar, remind me of my first mmo game i used to play.
Beggers, robbers, hackers, botters.
My country's gamer population also have some bad apples, kids with bad attitudes, but not all of us are like that.
There should be potential players in your server. Just young and need some help.
you could find them, those wiling to learn and gather them in F2PAddon, and start at small community.
who knows one day it might snowball into something big.

just a wild idea here but since blizz is obviously never gonna build in a translator, a translation addon could be cool. any chat recieved could be picked up and translated for you or something, dunno how it would even work or if its possible. i would try to make it if my head wasnt full of fluff

Well, I can't say I didnt try it with gear and several game tips, basically what I've learned when discovered TI. The big problem of my old server is that they seem to be too immature. The reason to roll BEs only is because its is the only beautiful class in Horde, all others are ugly (many ppl say that, they even used to bully my toons), Falconwing Square is like some kind of playground where ppl flirt and duel.
I had a nice group of friends there that could play objectively and good part of them, like myself, got some kind of Blood Elf sickness that prevents us from creating BE toons :( But most part of them are now p2p or stopped playing.
So, basically it is pretty hard to make a change in a community that everyone want to be beautiful, good on duels (rolling prot pallies only and forgetting that everyclass has its roles in game) and are very resistant to download addons (I tried, really).
Well.. Maybe if there were not interactions between US and latin servers it would be easier for both sides to communicate in bgs and dgs and everybody would have much more fun?

It's definitely not the BR players who are responsible for what we experience. It's Blizz.

Translation is a tough problem to solve in-game. But there's one area that Blizz could easily improve upon that could help out.

I try to use emotes right now, assuming that they're the only thing that cheaply (meaning without requiring great effort from me or my computer) and quickly get translated. But there aren't contextual/BG related emotes. Give us those, and I bet we could start seeing some change in play.

Since they already spend $$$ to localize the client, it would make sense that there's a whole set of emotes/commands that are already localized. They could polish up this system so that it was easier for players to communicate quickly about battle ground objectives. I know some US f2ps play with that one BG addon (can't remember the name) that allows you to click a button to send some message to /bg like "The EFC is heading out our tunnel" or whatever. Why not provide a slight UI change around the raidframe or minimap that had a few basic contextual messages like that? Or heck, on an even simpler level, just add some pvp objective related emotes. You can imagine this would actually benefit communication between ALL players, especially US-to-US communication :p

In mag im always with my eyes open to find good new players, we normally have 49 or more F2Ps online at afternoon, in so many F2Ps there some that are actually good.

What i do is, look for f2p well geared, if i spot one duel him(sometimes i dont), if hes good, i will invite him to f2p addon, give him some tips and tell him about curse, and what addons he should get.

Then its up to the player on the other side.
