How many of you are using boa gears? I have a few lvl 70s which I have thus far refused to lvl. However now that there is yet another boa slot opening up, I'm afraid that I'm going to slowly get out-geared fairly easily. I keep thinking that I'm going to twink my 70s (they're all very well geared) but I only find myself jumping in arenas very seldomly.



How about everyone just do me a favor and stop using boas, kthx :)
 
ya i am really hurting not having the BoA staff o J, my 2 19 healers, 29 lock, and 39 druid all need it. only my 39 lock is still well geared since he has soulfrost, but now the new BoA chest will be best(only for my lv 39 lock tho) my main is still only 73 after being back for a few months. its just too boring to lv him when i have soo many fun twinks.



but serioulsy, are we goign to have some stupid BoA for every slot soon? i hated the damn dialies, except the pvp one, which you dont get a freakin mark 4 anyways ggrhhhh
 
i use BoA's because i have them :p



i have an 80, and i dont play my twinks ALL the time. so i spent a bit of time getting some BoA's and testing them out. In several cases they are far and away better than what i was using. case and point, my 19 hunter dropped her 9 agility shoulders, and picked up herod's because of the stam, agility, and int, and AP on them. more AP, barely any less crit, mana, AND stam to boot.



in other cases, i found better alt's from the gear i already had.



so it's a toss up.









another thing, BoA's arent best in slot in the majority of cases...



only a few caster items, and some of the shoulders in some of the cases are better. keep that in mind.

personally I really enjoy earning all the BOA gear. It adds another fun tear of best in slots items to achieve, and I like that new twinks I make can benefit while they level.

Nice guide, it's very helpfull, I hadn't noticed it yet. If I decide to lvl I'll definatly be using it :)

Some of the BoA's are best in slots
 
i have more pieces of boa gear then i do twinks, farming heroics on 3 diffrent 80's gave me plenty of extra emblems.....i like the fact they were introduced and i love the ease of leveling with them

Except that they somewhat killed the market for greens and leveling blues. They are ridiculously OP for the most part to, especially the weapons which are BiS for almost every bracket. So blizz is encouraging lowbie noob ownage in a way, cause you have to have an 80 to get the gear.
 
I use BoAs... Why not? I think everyone should atleast have a time in their WoW life where they raid... It is so fun :D (Until your fully geared, and your guild disbands :()
 
not having an 80 makes me... hmm somewhat jealous.

having an item only available to active people w/ an active lv 80. its a great idea.

pre BC/WotLK I did like that once you made a twink and he owuld be done. but now you have to put more effort into them every patch. nerfs on chants, new/changed gear, BoA stuff.

i look forward to having the BoA that is best per slot for the class, but i hate how i have to grind my high level again.

they should make the BoA gear available through PvP and honor. i would prefer to PvP at 79 or 80 to get them, that would make it better for sincei enjoy that. heroic dailies require me to be active instance runner on my higher level which i am not, since i play my twinks too much. back when i had more time at 70(pre WotLK) it was easy to get the pvp gear, but running endgame was still difficult to schedule. Now i dont have nearly as much time so getting these item seems to be a long and arduous journey with no end in sight. I like twinking cuz there is a deffinate end, which i can work for an accomplish quickly.

so would there be any dailies accessable pre lv 80 to get these? i would really like to keep my main at 79 and still get the BoA gear. is that possible? then when they raise the level up to 90 i could make a really uber lv 79 twink with awesome enchants :D

greens and leveling blues(boe) still sell for outrageous amounts of gold on my server because theres alot of people who think omg i hit lvl 21 i can buy those blue bracers now...its kind of dumb when twink gear is selling for less then mid level leveling gear somedays

you can earn BOAs by just doing wintergrasp. This will go a little slower than earning emblems from heroics, and you only have access to the BOA items with resilience on them (instead of extra stats for damage for example). The quests for wintergrasp are obtained at level 78.
 
I'm really getting sick and tired of people pissing and moaning about BOAs. I mean come on....If you're too lazy to level and 80, then sorry, but you're SoL. Twinks still need to realize that Blizzard has created this game for end-game people. Twinks argued that we are a significant group of the population and Blizz threw us a nice bone with 3.2. However, the VAST population of WOW plays end-game. That's just the fact of the matter. You might as well be crying that there are no daily quests for twinks to earn gold.

(1) I was going to address the "killed the market" comment, but all BOAs did was make a few (yes a few) items less valuable. This will not make or break anyone's twink auction racket.



(2) Not a single piece of BOA gear is "ridiculously OP". None. Compare any piece of gear with the "former" BiS quest/BOP/BOE gear and you will notice no gamebreaking difference. If you will lose every fight over 4-5 stat points, then you aren't any good to begin with.



(3) How is "requiring" you to level to 80 encouraging "lowbie noob ownage"?? So everyone that has an 80 and a twink is just a noob??



Note: Yes I do have BOAs on my twinks, but not in all slots. I did level to 80 just for the BOAs. Hell I didn't even buy WotLK for about 5 months after it released.
 
a guild friend and I bit the bullet and leveled 70-80 over about a 12 day period. It was a lot more fun and easier with someone else there as motivation and assistance in instances and some quests. It might even afford a nice lil twink vacation come 3.2 ; take a couple weeks off from your twinks and level at a comfortable pace.



there were a few times that I actually really really enjoyed questing 70->80. for those that haven't pved in years, i must say that the WOTLK quests are vastly superior in every respect to burning crusade or vanilla wow. They are very varied and very creative in their implementations. (this from somone who has never raided/done dailies etc.). I was actually a little upset that all the fun quest lines were done once I hit 80. Grizzly hills is an amazing zone.



anyway I just wanted to encourage people who are dead set against leveling to 80 -- I wasn't planning on enjoying it at all, but I did actually have a lot of fun doing it and in the end I had a great 80 that I could dab in end game with and support my twinks all the better.

Yes definitely, I decided to level my pally to 80 mostly because I heard about how nice BoA items will be for levelling alts and how useful they could be on twinks. Levelling did turn out to be really fun, the zones all had their own atmosphere and the music in Grizzly Hills was quite nice and made me want a cabin somewhere in the woods =X
