Race/Class Combos

General

150% more macros

No more ranks for abilities. They will scale with your level now.

Talent Trees will be changed dramatically, a lot of the passive bonuses will be removed and talent trees should be more fun.

Every healer class can now dispell magic, the niches will other debuffs.

Default UI more friendly for classes so you don't feel like you have to use addons to play your class.

Bags might get slightly bigger with Cataclysm.

Itemization

Mana/5 sec is gone. Spirit now regenerates mana.

All healers will get a Meditation like skill. (In combat regeneration)

Mages and Warlocks won't have to deal with Spirit anymore.

Spell Power is also gone. Intellect now provides mana AND Spell Power

Hunters and Enhancement Shamans won't have to worry about intellect anymore

Attack Power is also gone.

Agility now provides 2 AP for rogues, hunters, shaman, and druids.

Defense is gone. will receive the needed anti crit from talents

Armor Penetration is gone. It was too confusing and is now replaced with a mastery.

Mastery makes you better at what you do.

Haste now increases rate which you gain energy, runes, rage, and focus.

Talents for Enhancement and Retribution will make this work.

Block value goes away. A block mitigates a percentage of damage. It is now a real mitigation stat.

Professions

Reforging

"Customize your gear"

Blacksmiths, Leatherworkers, Tailors, Jewelcrafters and Engineers

You can reduce one stat on an item to increase another

You can't put the stat points into a stat already on the item

Multi-gains will be added, while you level up your trade skills, rare items will give you more points as you skill up. (Rare items will give you 5 points for example, while green bracers will only give one)

Gathering should be a little more fun.

Engineering is a very fun tradeskill, but it's either amazing or it sucks and everybody drops it. More convenient items like Jeeves or Wormhole Generator will be added to the profession in the future to get back to the roots of Engineering.

Fishing will also have some big changes, no details yet but it's going to be more fun.

Able to track 2 gathering professions at the same time

Secondary Profession

Archaeology- Collect artifacts throughout the world

It will be used to unlock Paths of the Titan.

It will give you unique rewards like vanity pets, instant travel to a dungeon, titles, unique recipes for other professions, etc

You'll have an archaeology journal; artifacts will go here rather than your bags

It works like other gathering skills; you'll find an artifact on the ground and you interact with it

Races

New/more racials for old races, other races that have profession racials will receive a sub-bonus for that profession racial (like worgens)

Faster leveling in theses two starting areas that you have to do like DKs, not a problem thanks to XP turn off.

Worgen

Viciousness- +1% damage

Dark Flight- +70% run speed for 10 seconds. 3 minute cooldown

Abberation- Length of Curses and Diseases reduced by 15%.

Flayer- Skinning skill increased and allows you to skin faster, no skinning knife required

Two Forms- Switch to your currently inactive form. 1.5 sec cooldown.

The Worgen Form is cosmetic only

out of combat you can pick between Human or Worgen.

In combat you will be a worgen.

Goblin

As a goblin you start as a neutral cartel and eventually join the horde as you progress through the questlines.

Best Deals Anywhere- Always receive the best possible gold discount, regardless of faction.

Pack Hobgoblin- Calls your personal servant allowing you bank access for 1 min. 30 minute cooldown.

Better Living Through Chemistry- Increases Alchemy skill by 15, Your potions give more health / mana

Rocket Barrage- Launches your belt rockets at an enemy, dealing scaling fire damage. 2 minute cooldown. (shared)

Rocket Jump- Activates your rocket belt to jump forward. 2 minute cooldown. (shared)

Time is Money- Cash in on a 1% increase to attack and casting speed.

Hunter

Hunters now use focus instead of mana

Focus regenerates contunously

focus comes back at a 6/sec rate

A shot costs 10 to 30 focus.

Hunters will have fewer cooldowns on abilities

Ammos will become an item, not a consumable.

Warlock

Soul Shards are no longer in your bags. The goal is to make them fun, not a hassle.

Soul Shards will be integrated to the user interface. (Just like Death Knight runes)

You get three shards per fight, they will regen very quickly out of combat.

It will be possible to get more for long fights or mistakes through Drain Soul.

Soul Burn (New Spell) : Cost 1 Shard, 30 sec cooldown, off the GCD. Empowers your next spell, many (not all spells) behave differently when empowered.

* Empowered Searing Pain : Next 3 Searing Pains crit

* Empowered Summon Demon : Instant Cast

* Empowered Soulfire : Instant Cast

* Empowered Fear : Instant Cast

* Empowered Death Coil : Longer Horror, more healing received.

* They are only used in combat, summons or demons won't use your shards.

This is the only spell that requires a shard.

Warrior

Warriors won't be as affected as other classes by the itemization changes, the goal is to make other classes gears look a lot like what warriors have.

Guild Levels

A new guild advancement system will let you earn guild perks and level a guild through 20 levels with points to spend in a talent tree. You will access abilities such as cheaper repairs, less durability loss on wipes, or mass resurection.

PvP

Three new battlegrounds

Battle of Gilneas will be a new battleground where the objective is to control the city by controlling as many districts as possible.

Tol'barad will be a new PvP zone and will also be the most important daily quest hub. Just like Wintergrasp a battle will happen every few hours and the winning side will get access to the Tol'barad Prison and extra daily quests, the really profitable ones.

Rated battlegrounds will be added to the game and should get you the same rewards as Arenas.

New arena maps will be added.

New Zones

2 new lvl 1-15 starting areas- Lost Isles and Gilneas

Azhsara is the 10-20 goblin zone

Barrens split in two

water now looks a lot better

Instances

Revamped Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep and heroic versions added, hopefully we keep our lowbie version too

Path of the Titans

The Path of the Titans will let players follow a path (not restricted to classes), this is a new talent system with new skills and passive abilities.

A mastery system is being added as well, a lot of talents will be reworked to be more fun. The point is to get rid of a lot of the talent skills and not make you spend all your points in a talent tree just because it gives you more damage or higher crit chance.

All the areas are being redone it will be "a new questing experience" I wonder if this will help towards Ambassador? Maybe hurt it for newcomers but more/new quests for people who already started it.

I'll be updating as much as I can.

TY worldofraids, mmo-champion, and Blizzard

Goblin mount for those who care

gokartrenders.jpg

okay Diablo 3 stuff goin on right now so im taking a break. will back with more updates later

Wow...All the new race/class matchups are going to be fun.

Worgen having a sprint mechanic sounds awesome. And the Goblins have sort of the same thing.

Interesting

New Legendary

Shadowmourne - legendary 2h axe from Icecrown. replaces Frostmourne that no one is ever going to get.

caster legendary in the first raid in Cataclysm

oh god :\ some of those new changed are making me want to cut my eyes out and i havent even looked at them yet...

"Haste increases rate you gain energy, runes, rage and focus" Good buy level ten twinks? :\ Unless you can like get never ending energy forever so you can always spam SS or something...but this is going to change some stuff -.-

"Haste increases rate you gain energy, runes, rage and focus" Sounds like win to me.

for lots, yes - but for 10s it sucks, it also kinda fucks rogues over, more of a redoing the class though,

haste = more auto attacks = more damage

new haste = more energy = more yellow attacks = ?more damage? ...but thats for like endgame i guess

.

mana per 5 is gone

spirit

- is mana regen

- all healers will get a meditation-like skill

- no more spirit for mage and warlock

spell power is gone

intellect now provides mana and spell power

attack power is gone

agility now provides 2 ap for rogues, hunters, shaman and druids

defense is gone

tanks will receive the anti-crit from talents

armor penetration gone; replaced with mastery

haste increases rate you gain energy, runes, rage and focus

talents for enhancement and ret to work like that

block value gone, bocks mitigate percentage of incoming damage

so whats left.

amazing changes, i'm really looking forward to this expansion as i thought Wotlk didn't really alter any game play.

Has there been any word about a new hero class?

CC mages will potentially hurt like having a paper-cut rather than a pin-prick.

Ten bucks says mana costs will get rebalanced to accomidate the Int-SP change. Haste change is interesting though... could make warriors worthy of worrying about for hunters if they put on a weightstone. Could also result in hunters taking up 2H weapons over staves as well.

No new hero class, blizz is taking a break from the class balancing hell that a new class poses while they deal with the balancing act hell that Path of the Titans is likely to create.

lol probably conrose, all in all it will be interesting - Im not sure ill be around for it just cause ive been playing for 4 years and it has eaten enough of my life, but if i am around...i 'might' enjoy it - I guess what i'll do is just take it all in slowly and see where it goes ^^ ill try to look at it in a new light rather than my previous scowling darkness :p

still confused what path of the titans is though...

From what I can gather, it's something you unlock, I imagine bit by bit, through Archeology that depending on what you find, grants you passive and activated bonuses that are possibly not at all unlike racials in their effect.
