Blizzard-Twink Communication

I wrote my first post asking for communication from Blizzard, with what I think are some pretty good arguments. Would love a simple /sign, or an addition of your own thoughts on why it's in Blizzard's best interest to talk to us. So please no trolling, or counter trolling the lvl 80 trolls. They happen, arguing against them doesn't help our case.

I'll be writing more in the future. Maybe they'll work, maybe they won't. But it's not all that much of a time investment, especially compared to the potential payoff if they succeed. And it's not all that hard to contribute either. ;P

I apologize for reposting this, but didn't want it to get lost inside that currently 5-page thread. Also, I'd really like to hear other people's ideas on arguments for why it's a good idea for Blizzard to communicate.

In light of a few suggestions, I'm just going to try to "infest" the pvp forum with useful and productive discussion threads. Would love some support. =D

First one I'm linking here, basically just a discussion on 39 pvp balance. Now, before you go off on how Blizzard doesn't care, lets just make the assumption that they do care, and read my thread OP. =P Obviously they're not going to change talents, but they can change available enchants and what level certain abilities become available at.

Yes, useful posts. Any ideas or thoughts you have. Maybe just some abilities to look at, or that haven't been looked at as things that could require a higher lvl or lower lvl than they already do. Or some suggestions on what enchants should be "balanced". Or other ideas. Maybe bring up other issues that I didn't think of.

Only posts I'd rather not see this time are /signs and complaints about twinks being weaker or having their time and effort wasted. We want to concentrate on overall concerns of balance, fairness, and objectivity.

blizzard knows you're there. they have not forgotten that twinks exist. and they know that you want attention. that you've always wanted attention.

and their gift to you is to not put mandatory XP into Battlegrounds which allows you to survive. to continue to be the moss that grows underneath a well kept deck. and nothing more in any direct way.

not sure i understand your sudden drive at blizzard. it seems you're truly convinced that the nerfs on the PTR was the epitome of the Eye of Mordor focusing it's gaze on the twink communities for the first time ever.

i don't agree, and struggle to understand where you're getting this from. hopeful assumptions of blizzard's motives, i suppose. :p wishful thinking at it's worst.

Two reasons.

1. This could be only the beginning. One argument against xp in bgs was that there'd still be twinks; they'd be the people willing to spend a lot of money to gear out a toon so that it could farm bgs for xp, being op and all. Limiting available enchants and scaling them on a more gradual scale could be in preparation for making xp available for honor kills. Chew on that. =P

This wasn't my thought, I'm not cynical enough to come up with it, but it has some resonance with my intuition, and a number of other twinks agreed that it could happen. Especially since Blizzard went as far as to say they're considering it at the last Blizzcon, and since it was supposedly a pretty successful mechanic in WAR.

2. This got a lot of people's attention, so I decided to capitalize on that. And it's also just be deciding to try some different tactics, and pick up a new hobby: trolling the pvp forum. Now that I don't feel any need to actively recruit more people for Bloodlust (we've got plenty of twinks now for 10v10s), I have some available time to try advocating for twinks with Blizzard.

I don't feel like we have any other choice but to assume blizzard has good intentions. Because if they don't, then there's no point either way, we might as well quit or go raid.

Ultimately, if there's even a .00001% chance of success, imho for the cost of just some time, the benefit could be great. And if it turns out someday that blizzard actually decides to add xp to bgs, then we might have a chance at surviving somehow if we have some sort of rapport with blues.

And hey, if you don't care, that's fine. I'm used to doing all sorts of shit on my own. It makes it that much more satisfying to succeed. =P And we need a little more positivism in our world anyway.

that's a pretty big assumption. especially when the big changes across the board on the PTR are bug fixes to level requirements and the buggy BoA shoulders that should have never had enchants on them in the first place.

i'm not saying that you shouldn't advocate for these things. blizzard's attention on twinking is something we've been after for ... well, forever. and we all have that fear of xp in battlegrounds. heck, some of us have that reality. at 49, destroyed Lightwells grant xp. i have a priest in my guild who will /afk the second he sees someone on the other faction drop a Lightwell when he's in a pug.

i guess my point is, i really didn't understand your motives. seemed oddly placed to go on this crusade right after the PTR shows the recent changes. and some of the things you've said like "blizzard cares" threw me for a loop. i think we're just looking at these recently changes differently. and i think my way is right. :)

either way, i'm behind you 100%. even if you think i'm always a negative nancy. ;)

Well, the key is in the lvl 19 twinks not being able to use +100hp to chest any more. If that change gets propagated to other enchants and brackets, then it's a more likely possibility. I have to admit even the leg armors and spellthreads can probably be categorized as "bugs" by blizz.

Heh, you a negative nancy? Nah, I've seen much worse. Much worse. ;)

I never pretended to be consistent about anything other than my playing in the 39 bracket. This recent news just kinda inspired me, plus it looked like it gave a good opportunity to get people's attention, which is why I've moved so fast and so much in the last few days; people will go back to sleep again soon when they don't hear anything further on the topic.

The "blizzard cares" comment was supposed to throw you and everyone else for a loop. It's the last thing anyone would expect, and was designed to get anyone's and everyone's attention. I would say I succeeded. ;)

It was also intended to hopefully shock people into looking at it differently. The entire twink community looks on Blizzard and everything they do negatively (to be fair I guess a lot of the rest of the wow community is the same way too), and I figure it'd be more productive and might gain more attention if at least a few of our posts and reactions were positive on a large scale rather than negative. Or at least neutral.

In other words, it's time to smother them with love, and see what happens. ;D

Just a heads up, Blizzard strongly discourages '/agree' replies. Let me suggest that if you intend on replying, keep it constructive. Don't repeat information that's already been shared unless you're coming in on it with a new perspective and fresh ideas.

Also - I agree with Adt.

Adt - get Pantene to stop spending his money on grass and send me my fucking WoW CDs.

Yes, from what I've seen Blizzard tends to respond to long, insightful threads filled with constructive criticism and debate. Anyway, I like where your head is Jadyn, but I really can''t see anything coming from it.
