BiS gear in low level battlegrounds

Moloko333

Grandfathered
I crunch numbers for a living. I spent a good part of yesterday comparing the performance of twinks wearing different iLevel gear in battlegounds.

There is NO SIGNIFICANT difference in having so called BiS gear in low level bgs. The overall differences in performance is literally measured in tenths of a percent.

This is for a level 29 blood elf disc priest....

iLevel 33: int 194 crit 13.07% health 5520
iLevel 45: int 194 crit 13.07% health 5592
ilevel 49: int 194 crit 13.25% health 5592

So the difference between iLevel 33 and iLevel 49 is .18% crit and 72 health

There is a somewhat significant difference
in a level 10 disc priest* comparing iLevel 15 and iLevel 34
Crit +4.14%
Vers +0.57
Health +18
Int +1
Damage from Penance +21 out of ~920 (different base damage based on race. Starting stats matter. Gnomes, Goblins, Trolls and Blood Elves having the best int.)

The only advantage twinks have is our skill, teamwork, tactical knowledge and organizational infrastructure. Use those to their fullest advantage.

Thank you.

*I find the utterly OP, broken, off the hook power of a level 10 disc priest to be consistent with Blizzard's inability to manage their own game. Reminds me of how in WoD they said they wanted to limit CC and then buffed brew Monks who have unlimited, ranged, instant, aoe cc.

It'd only be a fallacy if it improved nothing

No, you didn't read what I wrote.
"There is NO SIGNIFICANT difference in having so called BiS gear in low level bgs."

Fallacy: a deceptive, misleading, or false notion

It is a false notion to think that BiS gear has a significant effect on player stats in low level battlegrounds.

breaking news we twinks have been farming off our asses for token gains for 6 expansions now the seventh wont change shit

of course it did but people were still chasing for the super ultra absolute bis set which was just a token upgrade to the standard one that was much more accessible

Ilvl is more for progression of a character than practicality, at 10-19 there is a huge difference because a lot of folks are missing many gear slots which is a significant advantage, that's why you often have more than 1,000HP than someone else.

Also Gms have stated they started it off very low and will be monitoring PvP for scaling up as necessary.

They edited the title of this post.

They removed the word "fallacy". Wow.

Did I hurt someones feelings?

"Ilvl is more for progression of a character than practicality..."

What does that even mean?

"...at 10-19 there is a huge difference because a lot of folks are missing many gear slots which is a significant advantage, that's why you often have more than 1,000HP than someone else."

No.

Differences in health are a result in level differences, not iLevel differences. My data clearly shows iLevel has little to do with health.

You did not read what I said, I said having all your item slots is what causes a significant advantage in 10-19

My level 10 disc has roughly the same HP as my level 19

Mislead? Did I say something false? No. The data is conclusive.
Maybe you should look up the term fallacy, it is inappropriate because while the difference is currently minimal, there is still a difference which means one IS best in slot, and the other is not, therefore it is not a fallacy.

If you had said the word "Minimal" instead than your title would not have been misleading.

What is roughly?

I don't have a 19, but i have a 20 warlock with 4700 health (iLevel 45) and a 29 with 6500 health (iLevel 48).

I am going to log in and gather more data on 19s.
