BIS for a 20 ret pally need help

I have recently just started a level 20 pally and would to like to know BIS for retribution and holy, would help me out a lot pretty new to this please and thank you.

Run lots of dungeons, (As Tank or Healer, Tank seems to pop faster) you will get a good amount of BiS gear in the randomized Dungeon Satchels. Since BoE plate doesn't exist before level 40, you will have to look to manual sources for your equipment.

Also, if you are Paid Player (not a Starter Edition player) you should look into Engineering, as the stats some of those items provide have much higher value than the value of lost of Armor Rating for wearing Cloth/Leather pieces as a plate user.

I was needing to know mainly about weapons rings etc for stacking str

For holy here's a good armory: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/bleeding-hollow/Tence

Everything he has is still obtainable, besides his weapon, which in that case you'll want the bg loot crate mace/sword of Aurora. Black Widow Band is obtainable through the AH, however, if that is not plausible for you, then bg crate ring (also aurora or adaptable) is your best bet. Also, for a replacement of bracers, bg crate aurora bracers are your best bet.

If you want a more balanced set, here's mine: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/character/argent-dawn/Dcm

My set has a lot of GF'd items, however you can replace a lot of them with dungeon blues, bg crate items, boa, etc. Tence goes for more int > stam as opposed to my set, but we both go for the 50 haste point (while in bgs) for 1.3 sec flash of light cast.

As for ret, stat priority is as follows: Str > Vers > Crit = Haste in my opinion.

For a non GF'd ret set (because I can't find an armory), it would go something like this:

Helm: Master Engineer's Goggles
Neck: Eternal Talisman of Evasion (Satyr enchant)
Shoulder: Polished Spaulders of Valor (Tiger Claw Inscription)
Cloak: Sporid Cape or a cape w/ haste that leans more towards vers (pvp power enchant)
Chest: Front-Line Breastplate of the Adaptable/Aurora/Quickblade (Glorious Stats)
Bracer: Front-Line Armplates of the Adaptable/Aurora/Quickblade
Belt: Stalwart Belt of the Quickblade/Aurora
Legs: Polished Legplates of Valor (angerhide leg armor)
Boots: Front-Line Warboots of the Adaptable/Aurora/Quickblade (Tuskarr's Vitality if using pvp power cloak enchant)
Rings: Demon Band/Recruit's Signet of the Adaptable/Aurora/Quickblade (vers ring enchant)
Trinkets: Defending Champion/Returning Champion/Touch of the Void
Weapon: Recruit's Decapitator of the Adaptable/Aurora/Quickblade (Crusader)

I haven't done too much testing with if crit or haste is the best, but I believe at 20 they're about equal, so pick whichever one you prefer more. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

@tence hope you don't mind that I used your armor for reference, also, maybe you can give some input for ret?

Also yes, those stats are correct for our level

On top of the lovely write up by dcm I will add my thoughts.

For ret: Str>Vers>Hast>Crit

why haste over crit? Mainly because ret has very nice heals through flash of light and you can provide some nice offheals. Haste Is going to make them slightly faster as well as your auto attacks slightly faster improving your dps a tad.

For the cloak enchant pvp power has been nerfed or made useless so use the vers/movement speed enchant as well as minor speed to boots enchant.

For the gear adaptable bg gear is best but aurora works too. Demon bands are the best rings you can get (2 str>5vers) To my knowledge they can be farmed as a ftp even. Dcm forgot the glove enchant which would be one of the str enchants. The bracer enchant would be str as well if you are a vet. Everything else Dcm listed for the rest of the gear is correct.

For holy my gearset puts out the most healing while giving you defensive options. If you are not human you will need to tweak things slightly to hit the 1.3s cast time but its not a big deal.

*edit*
I want to clarify my reasoning for haste over crit since I never really went into my reasoning why I am using crit on my ret sets despite saying haste is better. For someone with bomb tinker belt crit is better as critting with that bomb really helps with the burst for healers or fcs. This would be the only reason for crit over haste imo and for new chars that dont have access to this haste is more beneficial to the team imo since ret heals are so strong. It can work either way but this is how I look at it.

@Fat Al sorry to ask this but where do I make a new thread?

At the top of this page (right below the XPOff.com Logo) you should seem some tabs named: "Home" "Forums" etc. Click the "Forums" tab and than scroll down and pick whichever forum is relevant to your topic (Most likely 20-29 Forums). Once you pick a sub-forums, in the upper right corner of the page (below the Tabs I mentioned, and below and Sub-Sub-Forums that may be in that Sub-Forum) you should see a button titled: "Post New Thread".

My demon bands are 6/6/6, have had them for awhile maybe gfed?

When did you get them and what level are they? I have had the 19 demon bands since cata. I'm interested if there is any difference between them. Could you provide a screen shot? Your armory says 6/6/3

Yeah my Demon Band I had equipped has been in my gbank since MoP, so if by "awhile" you mean when scaling was first implemented, a screenshot would be nice. I'd rather there not be false information/rumors spreading around about something existing that doesn't actually.

Also, I had just picked up a new Demon Band on the AH, level 19/ilvl 24, same stats as the one I just had equipped.

bg chest and bg feet would be better depending on your luck, i have better boots in my bag just not enchanted yet, if you can get a vers dungeon belt that'd be great too, bis weapon rn is a bg crate vers/x wep

BoA with enchants > vers gear?

BoA with enchants > vers gear?
Yes, especially the legs because it's max strength. It's even better than the ilvl 31 invasion pants.

Is Ret viable these days? I have quite a few plate Looms and I am finding my Fury Warrior to not be as cool as expected (F2PVet w/o cool enchants). I have an ok geared Forsaken Fury, but finding the lack of range to feel like a Vanilla Pally (yes that was my main and it really sucked). Reroll Goblin Fury or Ret Pally?
