Best Non-Jewelcrafting Strength Gems?

I'm not planning on doing any profession rotation (particularly on alts), so for some of my characters, I'm just going to be using vendor-purchasable gems.

For Int and Agi classes, that's easy, just get the +4 Int/Agi gems for marks of honor from the PVP Accessories Quartermaster. But the only Str gems that vendor has are +2 Str/+2 Armor, which seem pretty lackluster. Are there any alternatives? I know that, when TBC Timewalking rolls back around, there will be gems from those dungeon runs (hopefully!), but are there any other decent gem sources that I'm overlooking?

Strength gems for F2P in general are weakest without the profession, even the gems that drop in the Timewalking dungeons are tooltip +2/+2 (granted you will see a +12/+12 version until you actually equipped it, and it'll show +2/+2).

The one caveat is with WOTLK fishing daily bag can randomly have a +3 gem which I believe was nerf'd to +2 but use to be equivalent to the professional crafted ones that gave +3.

With Strength builds it is usually better to get the max available strength/attack power (as needed) enchants, the Pandaria LW enchant for the Strengh bluff on leggings and hope to fill in the gem slots with Strengh and armor or versatility or stamina (as needed).

Additionally, without Jewelcrafting the F2P player will miss out on the Dragonflight Tier 3 item to create three gem slots on a DF necklace i.e. Amnesia.

I was talking about the +1 gem vendor :Troll:

But i totally forgot about the rep vendor lol
Not via the reputation vendor, it's part of capturing the three PVP sections and turning in a daily quest for tokens then when one has enough tokens, you can buy the +3/+4 gem.
