Best Gear for 49 Disc Priest (Ally)

Now that we can play without xp I wanted to see if I could improve the gear of my 49 Disc Priest (particularly since I'm playing with so many good players now!).



I haven't been able to find a guide to give me some pointers so if someone can link me to a profile or make some recommendations on a few slots I would appreciate it. Thanks!
 
head - soulcathcer halo

neck - the one from mara last boss

shoulders - boa or ones from either boss in early brd

back - summoned boss in sunken temple

chest - chan's imperial robes

bracers - wsg reward

hands - atala gloves of the eagle

belt - eek the one from the saytr guy in mara

pants - imperial pants, or spellshock if ur lucky

boots - ab ones

ring 1 - cyclopean ring

ring 2 - wsg ring or the boe lvl 41 one on the ah

tinket 1- if you leveling jewecrafting the serpent one

trinket 2- one of many



sorry i cant remember the names but those items are best in slot.

Check out Kareful, he is close to BiS and has most of the gear listed here. No Spell Shocks or the ST Gloves (yet).

i got 13/13 eagle goves when i was farming the trolls for my enh shamans chest (got 17/16 falcon the very next run and called it quits =]). fiddled with ele/resto for a bit then cried a little when green dragonscale was buffed out the arse....having those nice rare gloves drop for me on the 3rd run and then being replaced by a BoE! oh vell!

oh btw, i would suggest 30int for that priest...idk he might like his set up, and i am by no means an expert on priests; however the best ones ive seen/played with have over 5k mana unbuffed. and changing enchants would push his mana over that threshold. but if he is comfortable with what he's got and doesnt have mana problems, then SP is always good!

Hi kareful I just noticed that you're on the same server as me! When do you play WoW maybe we can join in a Battleground together.

ban'thok gets slight nod since you only lose what, 4 int, but gain 8 hit. cant mana burn (or physic scream, mind blast, holy fire, smite, etc) what you cant hit.

Anywhere close to 5k mana is plenty. Less than 220 sp, however, takes away too much from the amount that PW:S absorbs and restricts your dps posibilities. Disc can be the best healer/dps combo out there if played correctly, but you need some sp to do it. Your playstyle will have alot to do with it, but for me, the sp is absolutely necessary. Plus, once I get my hands on a mindseye circle/eagle gloves, I will have well over 5k myself.

i have to disagree that disc would be best 49 healer if played right, even the best disc will get counterd very very hard by enhance shammy, no other healer is countered as hard by them.



however, 4.7k mana min imo, 5.2k max. Find your sweet spot between there, get anywhere from 3.4-3.7k hp unbuffed. And 250+ SP.



right now im at 4.9k mana, 3.4k hp, and 271 SP. It is a super fun healing class but sometimes i wish there was something more i could do vs enhance.

oh btw, disc priest el oh el's and ret palys and at my sp level the shield absorbs close to 1k damage.



and get rupture if you have mana problems, it helps soo much.
 
Resto Shamans and Resto Druids are countered by many other things than just enhancement shamans.

LOL...I noticed that too! That would be great to get some help with gear and even get some ideas on strategies/techniques. I'm usually on every night from 7PM-9PM or so CST.



I was just playing with Toorop too, its good to see so many guildies contributing on these forums!
