Hey,

Ive just made my first intellect character but dont know how to reach kul tiras for the balefire trinket. I tried doing the BFA story but im pretty sure i need war campaign to actually get the boat going.

Any ideas?

There are several methods. The two I like are:

1. Catch the Iskaari boat (the one that leaves from Azure Span and does a tour of Norath). Get it from Grizzly Hills. Two stops later it's in Drustvar; or
2. If you've already done this quest line (ie this isn't a pure F2P account), do the Legend of Mechagon quest line. This will take you to Tirargarde Sound.

I don't think you need any campaigns going, I never touched any BFA content and I can easily go to Kul'tiras with either Horde or Alliance.
I think the issue is that the same boat in StormWind looks exactly like the DragonFlight one which can mix people up. Just wait till the right boat comes, as the captain shouts about it.

Edit: Unless you're at the start of the DF campaign that revolves around the black scale thing you get from your inventory which can cause phasing issues, finish that up untill DragonFlight area, then return back and wait for the Kul'tiras Boat. One thing of note, boat porting is very buggy so you might crash countless times and be stuck on a loop.

Make sure you're on Present time & don't have any of the other xPac intro quests active ( Legion notoriously bugged the boat in the past, for instance )
Head to SW & take the boat over. Jump on the anchor to avoid getting roflstomped by the guards.

https://www.wowhead.com/npc=131667/soulbound-goliath is a tough solo. Not impossible, but very nearly. You'll probably want to recruit some help.

Soulbound goliath apparently can be cheesed with the pvp trinket heirloom that removes stun.
I did it originally without the trinket using parajesh's medallion but it's close call. Baleful branch drop rate is VERY high in legacy loot mode, I'd highly recommend it.
