Back from a long break

I used to twink a lot during Vanilla/BC in the 19 bracket, but coming back after a long break, I'm noticing that turning XP off doesn't remove you from normal people in queue. Since it appears twinking is seeing a revival, I'd like to ask for some advice.

1. Gearing for a disc priest at 39... With Ilvl not being an issue anymore, i dropped heirlooms for crit and versatility. Is that the right direction?

2. Aside from this forum, is there an in game community for 39's?

3. How do I find premades now that guilds dont really matter?

4. I'm having trouble finding a pvp/twinking guild. Any advice?

5. Does the Epic Battleground/AV ever pop at 39? I sit for 40+ minutes without an average wait time.

6. Where should I be looking to improve my gear? Questing? Dungeons? Time warp dungeons?

7. Does the pvp individualized loot system ever give anything besides shit greens?

Depends on the heirloom, but generally speaking you should be able to replace all the looms, but remember you can get shoulder and leg enchants, so therefore sometimes heirlooms are arguably better.

Perhaps watch out for twink streams, most are in 19-29 bracket though but im sure that if you dont' get an answer there, someone will respond here.

5. Does the Epic Battleground/AV ever pop at 39? I sit for 40+ minutes without an average wait time.
It's probably going to be rare, also depends a lot on your battlegroup in general if you get to see any action, on my old twink server on 60's i havent been able to get in games for ages, even regular bg's.

6. Where should I be looking to improve my gear? Questing? Dungeons? Time warp dungeons?
Figure out what build you want first, check the stats you are going for, then investigate a bit in the dungeon guide, a lot of cool items are found in dungeons these days with the new scaling system, however many bis items can also be from the bg chests.

7. Does the pvp individualized loot system ever give anything besides shit greens?
Yes, quite a lot of blues for me, I actually get about 50/50~ so far on my new warr.

I have a couple of reasonably geared 39 Discs in my signature, only thing I'd change would be the weapon for the Epic Mara dagger and trinkets from Diremaul on the Ally Disc and would change the Trinkets on the Horde Disc.

Also have a different kind of set up on my Arcane Mage in the signature.

You will often find that the level 39 / i44 Greens ( I run with a Green mainhand and offhand on my Ally Disc most of the time ) offer better stats than the dungeon / crate blues, exception being shoulders and possibly legs because of the enchants. The PvP Neck / Ring, Boots and Belt are all good, not necessarily BiS.

aren't battlegroups no longer a thing? It is region wide now. All 60s should have ~3-5 min queues.

I highly doubt epic BGs will ever pop organically outside of max level and maybe 29s. Unfortunately they will pretty much be dead unless Blizzard changes how the queues work.

Since when, cause on Haumarush i was not able to even see a queue, but from defias i was able to sign up no problem.

With the introduction of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and Rated battlegrounds, battlegroups no longer apply to battlegrounds.[1][2] Players from different battlegroups can PvP against each other in both random and rated battlegrounds if they are in the same region (US, EU, etc.).

Did you perhaps try queuing as a high pvp rank while they were split into a separate queue? That has since been fixed

Just my opinion but non-grandfathered Dungeon Blues are often a stat point or two behind the i44 Greens that are in plentyfull supply on the AH. Decide on your Priority and pick the suffix that fits the best.

The "shit" greens from the crates aren't that many points behind the blues and can still proc the 3 rare suffixes, or give a more favorable stat weighting than a bad crate Blue.

@RaysGoodLiquor I took the time to look up your character - not sure if the armory is wrong but it shows 2K health ? Personally 3K unbuffed is where i like to be on my Discs, I dont mind swapping some offense for the extra health pool. 15% versa is nice, but I have 13% on my Horde Disc and 1K more health

2316 unbuffed but I just hit 39 a few days ago and don't have any enchants or anything. I'm still poking around with gear.
