Arms Warrior: Crusader or Savagery

depends on if you want a chance at 200ap and a small heal or a constant 70ap

49s are incredibly bursty, you will see a lot more use out of a static 70 AP. That being said, if you really like procs no one is really gonna knock you for choosing sader.

Whenever I have a choice between 2 viable enchants I always just get multiple of the same weapon and get both enchants. My old 29 rogue had 2 zealot blades and 4 torturing pokers with diff enchants on them.

I use crusader on my Arms Warrior:

Manxome

I considered getting 70 AP, but the extra 130 AP from a Crusader proc - coupled with the high proc rate - makes Crusader the superior choice in my opinion. Crusader procs very often (and always has), it was amazing in vanilla and it remains that way in Cataclysm.

crusader does seem to proc an awful lot, specially since its only supposed to have 1ppm or something like that.

but riv makes a good point about 49s being so bursty...you dont want to get a 'sader proc right at the end of a fight or something and waste the majority of the proc, whereas that 70 ap will always be there for you

That's because weapon speed is factored into procs per minute. The spell has a baseline that is compared to the weapon speed. The slower the weapon, the more likely crusader is to proc.

Procs per minute - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft

And as for getting the proc at the end of the fight, there is no internal cooldown on crusader's proc, so that is a moot point. I've had crusader proc within 5 seconds after an initial proc. Because the current status of the proc does not have any effect on future chances, there is no "waste".

Doing the math for it, a 3.8 speed weapon has about a 1/16 chance to proc Crusader on each attack. (3.6 is about 1/17). Since autoattacks and special attacks all have that chance to proc Crusader, and since the Crusader buff lasts 15 seconds; If you have a proper attack rotation, you should rarely ever see the crusader buff fade.

Crusader is the better choice.

I don't think the "waste" part is dealing with subsequent procs. It's dealing with the fact that you could have had 70 AP throughout the entire fight, but didn't.

BAR is still my favorite 2H to use for 49s anyway (its top end is superior to any other weapon I believe), and that can only take Crusader :).

Yeah, but mathematically you are likely to have 200 AP after your initial burst with Crusader. You might always have 70 AP, but you're gambling on your initial attacks being enough to take down your opponent, or you will be -130 AP when it counts (after the initial burst, trying to finish off your opponent while they are being healed). The 49's bracket has started having extended fights, and Crusader is vastly superior in a longer fight.

BAR is amazing. I'm working on getting one for Manxome, but 3500 justice points is stupid.

49 is still way too bursty to say extended fights, it pretty much always has and that hasnt changed yet. the only long fights are a low burst dps class vs healer, healer vs healer, or trying to take down a 7k prot pally with or without healer. crusader has a pretty awesome uptime, but there are extended periods without it; such is rng. with crusader youre "gambling" that you'll have 200 ap up a decent amount of the time. its a pretty safe bet but you can still be screwed by rng in situations. if you get savagery you know you always have 70 ap. as an arms warrior id say BAR is the best wep and crusader is the best enchant for that since it cant even take savagery. for ret tho i really like treants bane and would take 70ap

Divine Favor brings in some really fun LOLRNG damage being able to spam 2 TVs at once.
