arc mage got ganked

yesterday i logged to a arc mage at mechagon, doing the fishing pole attempt rare summon daily. fly around for the chests, and do the main daily which was kill 3 rares. something i did with ease 3 months ago, mage has enchants, TBC gear with +4 gems, EF on weapon

died on first rare due to lack of damage, tried another no luck, and main reason for that was due to arc missiles being gated now behind a clear casting proc, what makes it even worse when CC pops, i was still under a GCD of the ability that proc'd the CC, and can usually only get one arc missile set off. few times the CC popped but i had to blink and missed the ability to use arc missiles. i used to be able to kill the beastbot no volatile blaster, now i have to crutch on that weapon from the armory

this has been a signature ability of a arc mage just short of 20 years, WTF happened in DF that caused this? or is the hero talents in TWW that sent this to the chopping block? the arcane surge spell we have at 20 does not cut it

i have not read blizz notes, i see the blue post titles on mmo-champion it appears to still be constant with alot of hot fixes and reworks still going into the second month. seems TWW is still in Beta
 
It's probably less about the missiles than it is about the fact that the stats on all our gear got reduced when TWW went live. Part of blizz wanting to have a smoother power scaling while leveling. I used to be better able to delete things with just fully charged ABs, not anymore since the expansion.
 
i never had the WOD gear, the TBC gear is still the same if not better than it was before TWW. yeah the 4 charge AB feels way weaker to worthless in the time building it. i'm in current time, alot of damage that was done by the ooze trink is also gone to the point i have been using other trinks in it's place, only using it in dungeons

i have other classes is same type gearing or even less gearing, disco, hunters, ret/prot, fury, aff. they have no issues killing rares at mechagon

the few players i did do the WOD epics, yes they feel slammed in power and stam. i just use or build the armories now to use the volatile blaster which wipes most elites on the first cycle and for sure on second cycle
 
On a lvl 10 some of the Mechagon weapons scale like crazy. I would believe that the same goes for 20s. I'd recommend on getting the Volatile Blaster and using it to do the dailies. If you are not sure what I'm talking about you can check my Mechagon Ring guide for the information ;)
 
Volatile Blaster is not very helpful on a 20 (at least is wasn't the last time I used it).
But on a 10 it hits like a truck.
 
I noticed it on my main, but only recently discovered how poor Mage feels compared to before. Let's do some comparions for science:

My Resto Shammy is consistently hitting from 700-1400 on crit using Lightning Bolt.
While at full arcane charges, my Mage's Arcane Blast is hitting for about 500.
My Warlock's incinerate unbuffed, 350-500. (Chaos bolt hit for anywhere between 1300-1600.)
Shadow Priest, Mind Flay hits for 1k.
Feral Druid, a 5 point Ferocious Bite hits for 520.
For fun, my Rogue in Sub. A 5 point Eviscerate hit for 210... (Starting to make Mage look pretty decent.)
My Frost DK's Oblierate hits for 250 (or less).
My Survival Hunter's Raptor Strike hits for a steady 400.
Now for my DH main. (Oh boy.) Eye Beam hit for a whopping 686-1121. That's comparable to the Shammy's lightning bolt numbers, but obviously not spammable.

With those numbers, the Mage pulls ahead of several other classes, with only the Lock and DH overpowering it in their burst. And then there's the anomalies of the R Shammy and Shadow Priest, which are doing just fine.
For our lowest damage dealer on the list, we have the sub Rogue. Poor thing.
