Hey guys, this thread is basically to inform Android users about ePSXe. An awesome Play Station 1 Emulator App for your mobile phone. The App is £2.37, and will play pretty much every Play Station 1 game, at no extra cost; all ROM's are free to download from Coolrom.com
It runs smooth as butter on my HTC One X, and I think will run on any phone with at least 1 GHz processor.
So for all those old skool Play Station fans out there who have Android phones..... £2.37 for the Emulator, it is definitely worth it... I'd have paid MUCH more for this... Final Fantasy 7/8/9, Tekken, Spyro, Crash..... Oh lawd this is nostalgia heaven.
WUT TO DO:
1) Purchase and install the app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.epsxe.ePSXe&hl=en
2) Download the BIOS file SCPH1001.BIN download - 2shared and transfer it to your phone
3) Download PS1 ROM files from http://www.coolrom.com/roms/psx and transfer to your phone
4) The files use .7z extension, so install an app called ZArchiver https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ru.zdevs.zarchiver&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsInJ1LnpkZXZzLnphcmNoaXZlciJd
5) Extract the .7z files. (the 7z file contains 1 .bin file, and 1.cue file)
6) Run ePSXe App on your phone, and go to Preferences > Bios file > *locate SCPH1001.BIN*
7) click Run Game, *locate the .cue file of chosen game*
8) Enjoy!
All of this can be done from the mobile phone itself, but I find the process of downloading the ROM files much quicker via PC. Good luck to anyone who finds this useful.. You will not be disappoint!
Please note: All users who follow this guide are doing so at their own risk.
