Am I just getting unlucky?

Been grinding Legion Timewalking LFR's on my new 11 Warrior twink for several days now. I know there are only two dungeons in the rotation that drop 2handers. I've set my loot spec to Arms (I read that this removes 1handed weapons from the drop table and therefore increases my chances of picking up a 2hander) but I've yet to see one. I'm approaching 100 runs soon. Is this normal, or am I unlucky?

I also note that it switches to classic dungeons next week. Perhaps I should just wait for that?
 
There are no weapons drop from Legions dungeons (or raids). In that xpac every toon got an artefact weapon from the very beginning that they had throughout the xpac. Therefore, no weapons dropped from Legion dungeons or raids.
 
For legion TW dungeons there are weapons and shields. See adventure guide for loot

You can check for yourself what loot spec does to the loot drops in-game.

Go to the adventure journal -> Dungeons -> Legion (Expansion) -> [Whatever dungeon you want]

Let's say you're checking the last boss of Neltharion's Lair for the 2H it can drop. Click on that boss. Then click the loot tab. Above that it'll probably say "Warrior (all specializations)". Click on that box and change it between specializations to see what gets added and removed.

AFAIK 1h and 2H drop for both Fury and Arms. I kinda wish Fury didn't drop 1h but it does.

Loot spec really does matter for trinkets though, like a bunch of people get caught out on this with the first boss of Eye of Azshara. It only drops the trinket for Prot spec and not at all for Fury/Arms.

This whole thing is kind of tedious because I end up changing loot spec between bosses to get tmogs I don't have, like shields only drop for Prot. I even have hotkeys for changing loot spec.

It's definitely worth having Hatebringers because, last I checked, 11.1 drops TW drops at 11 from 60 to 42. Now last I checked that was only for new drops. I do not know if existing items will ultimately get downgraded. In the 11.0 prepatch, WoD dungeon gear absolutely get nerfed, new and existing drops. Overly nerfed, actually, which is typical Blizzard.

Shadowmoon drops an Int staff that in DF used to be ilvl 42 at 10 (IIRC) and 56 if Warforged. You had to do a lot of runs to get that. Now those ilvls are awful because ilvl 30 (at 10) drops like candy in TBC/WotLK dungeons. For Warriors, Underbog is a loot bonznza for ilvl 30. Hatebringer is 3 sockets and ilvl 30 at 11, which is better than anything from WoD (non-TW).

Personally I just keep any TW and socketed drops because who knows what the next nerf or level squish will bring.
 
I haven't seen a weapon drop at all either.
Also of note: The weapon transmogs are for purchase at the TWing vendor.

Makes me wonder if the weapon drops are so rare (or disabled) that warranted the transmogs to be placed in the vendor.

So today I did I think 15 Black Rook Hold runs with a full 4 Fury Warriors in each run. Not a single weapon.

On the weekend I did probably 20 Neltharion's Lair runs with 2 Fury Warriors. Not a single 2H weapon.

Additionally, Legion just seems to be worse for just how many drops you got. In all my Blackrook Hold runs today with 4 Warriors, I got an average of 1 item per mob. It's higher than that for other expansions. I'm not sure what the best expansion is to farm TW 2Hers but it ain't Legion.

I do think weapons are rarer because that's just such a Blizzard thing to do: find what you most need and make it just a little rare to keep you on the hamster wheel longer. They do this sort of thing all the time.

Back in 10.2 for example, to get tier outside of raids you had to do Emerald Dream weeklies. Cloaks were super common. I had a DK that by the end of 10.2 only had 2 tier pieces and had 15 cloaks.

I did enough Strath runs in Classic TW to get the mount to drop 3 times. In that same time I got 5 or 6 swords from Baron Rivendaire.

You cannot convince me this is all bad RNG. Weapons are just rarer.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if weapons are just simply rarer, as you say.

I've decided i'm just going to wait for it to roll over into Classic Timewalking event, which is in less than 7 hours now. There are something like 13 or 14 weapon drops across the dungeons vs the 2 in the entirety of the Legion dungeon set.

Besides. Rivendares sword is just cool as heck, man.
 
Zero weapon or shield drops for me so far in TW this rotation. Getting some real mileage out of my crescent axe.

yeah id say any time spent other than getting baron sword is pretty much a waste unless youre going for your 2nd, especially since you can farm the mount at the same time, and if you already have it, you get to give it away and make someones day. I got it 4x during the anniversiary, and one of the people i gave it to gave me 63k
 
I would still grab osme hate bringers just in case your twing gear gets nerfed, best to have it now while its the easiest then later.
