All your precious twink items; worthless :(

I just wanted to get some insight on other people's point of views, especially those that really do dedicate to these difficult-to-attain items for their twinks.

So it has just been recently confirmed to me that these Tabard and Shirt "Tabs" are going to happen.
All tabards and shirts will be shared account wide.

With that being said, GFed stuff such Precious' Ribbon will pretty much be available to most twinks.
Um and for my F2P fellows, your Tabard of the Scarlet Crusadewont be that special
And especially for [MENTION=6328]Snowjobs[/MENTION] with his Tabard of The Ebon Blade, that is such a special item through my eyes

and I know a lot more twinks through out brackets who have pretty much devoted major time and currency into their items
event TCG items, those tabards will also be account wide

So, all these cool things are just becoming not that cool
I remember before mounts were account wide, a friend who loved to farm 20s on his 24, he bought the haunted locket and and a Crimson Deathcharger (costed much more back then) for her 24, and made this intimidating DeathKnight-like look, become pointless with mounts and toys being account wide

The only things worth being personal are items that required reputation to be earned, and those are just such low quantity items
even the tabards that do require reputation are now becoming easier to attain with time walking, prison keys were a lowkey thing to have and not many knew how to do it

Right now what i'm looking at:
Most of your cool flashy items are probably going to be endgame based, were everyone is put in the same competition and limit to getting cool items, and these can go to your twinks

anyone else feel sad?
 
Well really to have endgame items like mogs and tabards still require a level to use as mog and most of the end game tabards cannot be used on your twink so some items will still be of value
 
Correct me if I'm wrong but ---

It doesn't give you the items, it only transmogs them - so twinks can still equip Precious' Ribbon and have it transmogged to something else, if you don't have it on your twink you can only transmog it to another shirt which you have on that character
 
Unique items became not so cool when they became account wide. i was the shit on my 29 with the HH mount because it took some knowledge of how to get it. no haxx or tomfoolery just understanding the HH event was inside an instance of my level.

As far as gear goes: if chants etc and trinkets are removed from low level bg's i hope theres still la way to twink or customize our toons. I'm banking on items with procs being the new "must have" stuffs.

This just follows the MMO rule that you should never put more value on pixels than the enjoyment you experience obtaining them. Before you start a grind for anything in this game, remind yourself of that fact.

You didn't note that rep is now just a click away for random dungeons, even for starters.

I felt the same way you feel when Timewalking Dungeons were released. Given farming for the reputation tokens is not something super easy, it still removes the allure of insane dedication and never-ending grind twinks had to do for the ethereum prison key farm.

Same goes for the Frozen Visage of the Laughing Skull or any variations really. Tons of gold down the drain, for what some will have freely in Legion.

I go out of my way to get these super rare items because of exactly that reason. I love it when my twink stands out from the majority. I put that extra effort in to show how dedicated I am on my twink.

As the expansions are released, it feels like Blizzard is continuously trying to make everything Account Bound. First it was the Locket that cost 5kg and the Riding Turtle mount. Super rare on twinks, now everyone (almost) has it. So I had to go and get something else since its BoA. The TCG tabards, Ethereum Prison Key tabards, Precious' Ribbon and the Frozen Visage have been my buffer for a while. But all that is going to be gone in Legion. Then I'll have to go on some other fancy adventure to add additional swag to my 10 twink.

I feel like this mentality applies more on low level twinks because, as a level 10 twink, someone could create a toon and have the same exact gear as me within 10 minutes. Then when I tell them I have had this toon for the past 4-5 years, I just look like some lame guy that puts no effort in his twinks. I refuse to be just a plain twink. I love putting the effort and go out of my way to get something most people would never consider getting.

If you think of it in a more strategic way, Blizzard knows players want to make their toons unique. So this addition will force those players to play more to get those rarer and non-boa items to satisfy that craving. After all, additional time needed to farm for items = more money for them through monthly subsciptions (cuz who pays 54kg for a monthly token). :p

I don't pay 54k for tokens :c I bought all of mine back when they were at 17k...

tabard vendor in IF/SW & Org/UC

usually only one will have it, sometimes you'll see it in IF and not SW and vice versa.
 
Yeah the dwarf had it, cool, can get a few Feats of Strength on several newer characters now then :p

Are there any other tabards or shirts that work like this? If there are I don't have em, but would like to know

Why would these "cool things" all of a sudden not be "cool" ? You still have them. You had fun getting them. After all, isn't that the point in a game? To have fun...

As a matter of fact, I gave my level 24 Paladin my Crimson Deathcharger as opposed to learning it on my main so that it could have a unique mount. And it did for quite some time. When account wide mounts came along it was actually kind of nice that I was able to share that mount with my other toons.
Same thing with the Competitor's Tabard. I felt it was nice that it was made account wide. Now all of my twinks can share in that accomplishment, not just a few. Account wide items are a blessing, not a curse.
