AGM's and their use

For those who have experience with this trinket: (looking for priest specific info, but anyone can contribute)

1) The 15 min. cd basically only allows one use in a bg, so obviously you would wait for the right time. Can you describe those circumstances in which you've used your agm, and why you chose to do so?

2) Are 2 agm's always better than 1? If not, what should you use in the other slot?

Rune of Perfection>AGM, since you said you were asking about priests.

Use the AGM when it is a moment where dying could cost your team the game. Do not use the AGM if you're going to die if you use or not unless you just need a few more seconds to finish off the FC or cast your FC one more heal to prevent his death. AGM does not last more than a few seconds with people on you.

Two AGM's are never better than one unless your PvP trink is on CD. If your PvP trink is not on CD it should always be equipped unless you are a human then two AGM's would be suitable at all times.

for humans, 2agm is the way to go no matter what your class is imo. spell pen barely does shit imo. hit cap is enough. as a lock fear is important, i have done a small test and i never missed my fear without my spell pen anyway for about 50 times.. i spammed. (especially if you are a healer, like a priest, and you are healing, you dont need any spell pen. just ditch that rune of protection and go get your 2nd agm IF you are human.

My priest is dranei - thanks for the info on spell pen. I still wonder about going for a 2nd one anyways, since fort won't be available when mop comes out.

Personally, I think it comes down to your playstyle as to which trinkets you equip. I usually run trinket and spell pen, but that's because I enjoy controlling myself and my spells more than surviving. Even when I had a human priest I still ran AGM and spell pen. I just find that spell pen trinket to be so important if you want to make sure you get your fears to land or if you ever dps.

I've seen priests run double AGMs as non-humans and they do fine (people like Muncey who everyone says is so good, but I find his play too predictable, also Potatoez and Inoobupro's priest run double AGMs). Whenever I have extra honor on a healer, I'll pick up the intellect heirloom trinket because it too has a few games where it is worthwhile. Like if I get into a bg with 9 good dps, I know that extra intellect is more useful as they'll all protect me and I'll keep us all alive.

In other words, I like to have them all and pull them out as I see fit.

Spell pen for priests is like expertise for rogues, you decide if you care about psychic scream resisting half the time on undead.

The first two things I shoot for in pvp, whether it be 20 or 85, are hit and spell pen cap. Its harder to appreciate the benefit of those two stats because they don't make numbers go up on your screen, but I can think of a couple instances where a missed/resisted fear likely would've resulted in a loss for our team. CC is gamebreaking, I try to avoid letting it fail at key moments. Its slightly more debatable for a class with spammable CC, but I personally can't stand wasting a 30 second fear CD because of the way I choose to gear.

I appreciate everyone's input on this. Can someone give me a macro for swapping out trinkets? I'll eventually go for 2nd agm, and just get all the goodies. That way all options shall be available. :p

Keep your second AGM / whatever trinket in the same bagslot:
/equipslot InvSlot BagId Slot

InvSlot is:
13 = trinket 1
14 = trinket 2

BagId is:
0 = backpack
1 to 4 = character bags numbered right to left

Slot is numbered from top left 1 etc.

So for example:

/equipslot 13 0 1

people talk alot about how spell pen saves a critical situations but they never mention how agm hp can save situations too. If you are healing an FC and you are about to die. Luckily, you had 50 hp left because of the agm hp and all the enemies were dead after. You saved yourself while healing your FC. Spell pen doesnt do any benefits when healing. Hunter does more dmg than priests. I know priests does alot too but their more known for healing. ESPECIALLY in this bracket. And that is why i think agm can be better than spell pen most of the time in BGs. AND i never my fear missed without my spell pen trinket. I probably got lucky but you know, if i miss every 1/50 times, ill be fine.

As a rogue, AGM gives u a great way to get a free restealth if you have DOT ticks on you, it also provides a way for AGM to be useful verse a shaman (LoS with flame shock tick on you then free stealth)

As a paladin, AGM is a lifesaver and I can't imagine playing without it, especially as a healer. The only time i actually NEED to use it is when i'm close to death and in the process of turning over a game with the help of my teammates of course. The macro Yde posted is EXTREMELY useful when your pvp trinket is on CD or the situation depends on a certain trinket setup. I encourage you to try out different combinations of trinkets and see what suits you the best. There is really no wrong combination of trinkets, but some combos are better than others.

Paladins don't need spell pen vs undead/draenei.

And Dubbs, what if you die because they resisted your fear?

? then you die? dont see your point. I didnt say they wont resist fear without spell pen.
what i am saying is there are way more chances of your hp going down to 100 and survive than having them resist my fear based on my experiences.
