Legend
Mining is a gathering Profession which is best combined with blacksmithing, engineering or jewelcrafting as it can be used to gather materials for those professions.
What that means is that you could simply collect resources and sell them through the auction house to other players who are maybe to lazy to mine. Which means more gold for you. There are 3 types of WoW mining indgredients: Stones, gems (Rare, used by Blacksmiths & Engineers) and obviously metals. Mining components can aslo be found from killing monsters.
As gathering professions can take time to level up and If you do not wish to travel the world in search of your mining materials the quickest way would be to actually buy the mining material that you require through the auction house and level up that way. However this can cost a lot of gold so if you are not flush with gold you are going to have to get you hands dirty.
To begin mining you need
1.Mining training from a local NPC trainer(computer player)
2.An authentic WoW Mining Pick (Jokes, any mining pick from a local trade merchant)
3.Gloves. Search for the cheapest gloves you can find and get them enchanted with +5 mining skill, +- 2gold.
4.Mining helmet (Engineers can make) will add +5 to your mining skill as well.
5.Find a mineral vein to mine. (We are going to show you where. Check below)
Note: The gloves and helmet are optional but recommended as it betters your chance when mining.
WoW Mining trainers are located here:
Horde- Jonathan Lewis at Vengeance Landing, Howling Fjord.
Alliance - Fendrig Redbeard in Valiance Keep, Borean Tundra or Grumbol Stoutpick in Valgarde, Howling Fjord.
OR Both factions go to Dalaran and talk to Jedidiah handers in the Magus Commerce Exchange.
