85 Disc Priest

Hey guys,

I decided to make a priest to try to diversify a little bit, and I'm basically searching for as much info. as possible with regards to an 85 disc priest. The reason why I'm asking is because I've done some independent research, and a lot of people that I've found do things differently. So, I'm looking for gear, stat priority, talents, etc. discussion to get the ball rolling.

wut r the goto profs for 80-85s?

Best professions are alchemy for the 40 int flask, engineering has its uses for speed boots and glider - I'd suggest those two.

Stat priority for disc is Int>Versatility>Haste>Stamina.

There are lots of gearing options. Cata heroic gear will yield great stamina and good haste. Just lacks versatility.

You can go spellfire robe set for extra spellpower but I think you loose too many useful secondaries and stam.

There may be a lot of useful items to farm from quests but I haven't looked into them too much.

Look at the heroic cata dungeons as they have pieces with much higher mainstat than dragonsoul does.

There are also trinkets that give stacking versatility... sorry i forget where they're from but they're insane at 80-89.

So, by taking alchemy and engineering, you wouldn't be taking tailoring and therefore omitting the whitemend set (provides +10% intellect to spellpower with a 2 piece set).

Really depends on how you want to play. You loose out on hp and some secondaries as well as a meta socket which can be pretty useful.

If you want to max your spellpower go for it. But as a healer you need to survive burst from a rogue, mage or warrior. The balance of hp/spellpower is subjective.
