for raiding highest ilevel gear is best( sunwell and tier with eng trinkets/bottled tornado). For pvp i would suggest the tailoring sets you could go for glass cannon with both sets or whitemend only. Even the 4 set absolution is does ok.

The above is some awful advice in terms of PvP gearing. The PvE part is correct though.
The issue Shadow Priests have is surviving, they don't have trouble doing damage (their damage is really good even with low amounts of spellpower). The most success I've had as Shadow is with the Merciless Gladiator's 4-set and some additional high stamina items (yes BA works for Shadow).
You get ~35% passive damage reduction and you take fade glyph on top of that and you basically cannot die if you're good at the spec and play with someone who understands what is needed to win when playing with a shadow priest.

I haven't played Shadow in a long time now though, the bracket has been flooded with people playing enha shaman and feral druid and there is no way to beat that unless you queue rogue/sp and play like a god every single game, which gets tedious.

idk man my spriest 1 shots everything in arena on opener kinda broken with the gear i'm running... I don't know how it's awful advice, everyone has their own playstyle. It is glass cannon but it works for me just fine. I personally have never used the merciless gear so I have no clue how it works and how it relates to the tailoring sets.
The gear Fx is referring to is easier and cheaper to obtain by far.

So everyone is completely clueless and lets you cast mindblast just like that?
You should never win against any Rogue or Feral with that gear. If you're playing with a Rogue yourself then you can maybe beat some of the other melees like enha or warrior. Seeing as 90% of people at 70 are Rogue or Feral, I really doubt you just ''1 shot everything on opener kinda broken''.
Shadow is basically a Frost Mage with worse defensives, worse CC, and worse mobility.
