@60's how to deal with rets...

NoOoO

OG
Basically title says it all how do you deal with ret paladins ?? Theres like 4 twink ret pallys on my bg in the same guild and they just destroy everything and its really not fun ..so how do you deal with them ?

From what I saw a frost mage can destroy a ret.. Could be wrong though, but had a 60 pimp'd Ragnaros ret and a pimp'd frost mage duel outside, and the ret was getting destroyed. What class do you play?

#1. separate them....most important step

#9. bring friends. yup, sure helps

#2. hope their bubble is on cd. or do some crazy burst w/o getting hit to force a bubble, then kite while they heal. if they're bad they wont heal and will just try to chase you

#3. hope LoH is on cd. if not, could be over

#5. use pots, LoS to bandage, eat, w/e if you are running low on hp

#4. finish them

helps if you had said what class you are. kite as much as possible to avoid their burst, dispel HoF and other buffs if you can. just gotta out burst em and hope their bad or their good moves are on CD..if not they'll kill you but if you run into him in less than 2-5mins you'll have a lot easier time

I always find that a decently geared and skilled holy pally is great against ret if you know what ur doing. I can easily down my 60 twink ret friend with my holy pally that ive had for about 3 months now, and hes had his since i believe last december. Holy pallies have crazy bursts if you time your spells right. Start off your attacks using the basic moves that dont take down alotta mana, and once retty's down about half way, at that point he'll just think ur trash and try to mow you over with insane dps... this is where you mash exorcism and holy shock (flash of light every once in a while) and down him as fast as possible. Most ret pallies at that level are nub cakes, they think all they gotta do is press their buttons and its an instant win. If you really want to take down a ret pally fast.. really fast... Shadowpriest FTW.

Are you serious? Rets can dispel the majority of spriest damage (i.e. all dots). The only way they should eat any dot ticks is if they're silenced or feared. The dispel penalty damage from VT is pretty low. Besides you have to stop kiting to cast it. If they have their trinket, then they should trink the first fear and be done before another fear comes. Once dispersion is gone, all you can do is stand there and cast. Might get lucky if all you do is run away spamming DP.

But yeah, a spriest works if they have all their CDs and the pally has none.

And no, I don't know firsthand how this works at 60, but I pvp frequently on an 80 spriest and a 77 and 45 pally and it goes a lot like I described above.

I burst em with my warrior, beaten all rets in tzhe guild, except the gm, who has full t2.5 DoS and is skilled, compared to the rest...

Altho this was before they added ''Terror'' to the spriests arsenal

Nowadays any spriest with tbc gear can destroy pallies, if you dont think so, you havent played against any good priests.

Spriests do have the ability to take out a good paladin if your CD's are up and you can get a 1v1. Besides that it favors that paladin pretty heavy. although it can be done.

Frost mage is usually a win vs any paladin. Even with dispells and freedom it seems to not be enough to catch a good mage in open field.

Prot warrior is usually a good counter to a ret paladin, ive seen many of prot warrior take out ret pally's 1v1.

One class not mentioned here is Hunter. A skilled hunter can kite the shit out of a paladin and usually put out enough burst to take a 1v1 everytime.

Warlocks also stand a really good chance vs a paladin, are you starting to see a trend here. For the most part ranged/caster classes have the highest success rate vs paladins. For your particular situation having four paladins in a group running around together there's not much you can do but bring some friends along to help counter. Paladins are strong in this bracket and even more so human paladins. This is why every new player to the bracket rolls one. because they are easy to play and you can obtain the best gear in the least amount of time. So i suggest bringing some friends along if you have multiple pallies to deal with. If your having trouble 1v1 only thing you can do is try to obtain the best gear for you class possible and pick up some engineering (375) and toss some gnades at um, use your nigh belt and rocket boot out, heal up and go at um again. GL

spriest is even better @ 70 btw. mass dispel to take off bubble, stronger dots, sw:death, etc. even @ 60 tho a pally cleansing will eat a lot of GCDs which the priest can just instantly reapply while kiting, so it will work it'll just be slower. dispel HoF, use mindflay to kite, fear and run. casters definitely have an advantage if they can kite well. warriors can only hope to outburst them and hope their bubble is off CD (or if they bubble run to bandage/eat quickly while the pally heals). also hope LoH is on CD or he doesnt use it, cuz that'll reset the fight.

#1 thing is to get him 1 on 1 in an open spot. gl taking 4 pallys, you wont last long at all. and kite where theres no horde or where you have allies, dont wanna get into more trouble while handling one pally. so bring friends!

shammys can get pretty raped by pallys too, seen it loads of times (twink vs. twink ofc) Rogues is kinda weak at this bracket, or? Theres a reason to why youtube is spammed with naked rogues pwning like hell e.g World of Roguecraft ;)

Rogues are one of the weaker classes in this bracket for several reasons:

1) Extremely vulnerable to DoTs without CoS.

2) If you're Horde, be prepared to get screwed over by Perception even with 3/3 MoS.

3) Stealth classes are weaker in 60-69.

4) Lack gem slots in comparison to every other armor type.

I've played a 60 Hunter, Warrior, Retardin, and Rogue all twinked out and near BiS. Retardin > Prot Warrior > Hunter = Arms Warrior > Rogue.

And if the paladin repentence and heal? and trinket/freedom cheapshot and kidneyshot, then you're shit out of luck :)

evasion isnt as good as you guys are making it out to be. but ok
