49 SV Hunter Gear List (WIP)

Okay, I've gotten together my wishlist for my 49 SV Hunter Twink.

Ranged Weapon:

Verdant Keeper's Aim - Easy to get, great burst potential and scope viable

Charmed Ancient Bone Bow - Same Damage Range, not scope viable... hit, crit and attack power though

The gun legacy weapon is also in consideration since Engineering ammo > Vendor ammo.

Bloomsprout Head Piece 10 Agi, 18 Sta, 36 AP(+8 Int chant)

Atal'ai Breastplate of the Falcon 17 Agi, 17 Int(+6 Stats enchant)

From Gear:

89 Int

194 Agi

203 Stam

15 Hit Rating

14 Crit Rating

15 Resil

Base Stats for NE Hunters at 49

54 Int

105 Agi

72 Stam

88 Ap from Level

Base Mana = 1390

Base Health = 988

Untalented Totals:

143 int

299 Agility

275 Sta

286 Non-Stat based AP.

Base Mana = 1390

Base Health = 988

Stamina Gained from Talents

27.5

143 Int

299 Agil

302 Sta

286 Non-Stat Based AP

Ap From Agil = 299

AP From Sta = 90.6

AP from Stats = 532

Total AP = 818

Health From Stamina = 2840

302 Sta

818 Ranged Attack Power

3828 Health

3255 Mana

15 Resilience

15 Hit Rating

14 Crit Rating

If you're a survival build, you will definitely be over 3k no problem. My hunter is at 46 and can get over 3k with minimal enchants and such and I'm not even survival.

Well, just did some calculations using another 49 NE Hunter as a reference for base information... as well as formulas from WoWWiki, I have come to these results with the Bone Bow equipped, but no neck or weapons + weapon enchants.

Stats:

Stam = 221

Agility = 227

Int = 143

Base Mana = 1390

Total Mana = 3255

Base Health = 988

Total Health = 3018

R.A.P. = 524 (+37 DPS)

And this without melee weapons or a neck. By comparing it to my 29 Hunter Alt, I'm actually at a higher Total Mana:Base Mana Ratio (Sokolniki had 2.15 Total Mana per point of Base Mana, this gear list gives me a 2.34 Total Mana per Base Mana).

Seeing as Sokolniki could spam wing clip with Viper Aspect on and still gain mana, I think I'm pretty good on Int. At 3k hp, I'm at the average of non-prot specced twinks of the bracket and I'm certain that the weapons/neck will provide me with plenty more stamina anyways. So now my concern is getting up my agility since I'm lacking in that department.

From what I see, your agi is actually fairly high for hunters in the bracket. 3k HP is actually kinda substandard right now, however most people's HP pools are high because of the mining buff. We'll see if it does go back down after that bug goes away and people have to actually level to 375.

At 3000 health you won't stand much of a chance against rogues if they jump you. I'd recommend for a hunter to get at least 3.5k so you have some wiggle room against those annoying premed -> CS -> Evis noobish rogues. If evis crits, you've probably lost over 50% of your health pool in about 2 seconds.

Since you're getting more agility from your weapons, I'd recommend recalculating exactly how much (Especially depending on which weapons you choose to use. I recommend Ribsplitters). I think after that recalculation, you are going to be in fine shape in both health and mana.

Okay, after looking through the neck drops, Sentinel's Medallion (12 agi, 8 stam) would be a good item to use since the agility only form of the Fire Opal Necklace was more or less the same. Toss in 2x Ribsplitters of say, the Monkey with 7 stam and 7 agility.

22 +2.4 stamina from Survivalist Talent, so 24.4 stamina added. 7.2 attack power from Hunter Vs Wild, + 26 from agility and the 20 from the Ribsplitters raw attack power bonus. 53.2 attack power. Most likely gonna grab 2x +20 agility enchants for 40 more Agility, so 93.2 attack power. So I'd be around

Agi = 293

Stamina =245

Int = 143

Base Mana = 1390

Total Mana = 3255

Base Health = 988

Total Health = 3258

R.A.P. = 617 (+44 DPS)

As per rogues, due to my large mana pool, I feel I should be able to afford to keep a flare down at least the majority of the time... however, as my rogue is a main, I know that it's not always best to limit myself to the radius of the flare effect as it makes me much too vulnerable and predictable, and to, if available, flare on most any rogue I manage to root/snare to prevent them from popping vanish to break said root/snare.

I should get 130 Mp3 with Viper active, and 182 mana off of shots.

Honest to god, I think you're ok with the setup you have. The gear you have picked with the enchants you have chosen are pretty much standard to all hunters here in this bracket. I can't think of any other best in slot items. (feel free to correct me here)

You may want to look into Gutbuster as a gun as well (Spelling on that may be wrong)

I'd go JC just to make you trinkets, then I'd drop it for another profession. The beauty of JC is that you don't have to keep it in order to use your trinkets... just don't forget to make all of them that you want before you drop JC.

I'd probably go something like Engineering and Tailoring (nets ftw). You could probably benifit a little bit off of gathering to 375, but that's kinda a judgement call.

That... is freaking awesome! I'll do that. I'd imagine that Dense Stone Statues lose alot of their thunder by 49, since at 29 I've yet to lose a stone statue before it's full duration. Dropping it out of LoS of other hunters has proven to be great for straight up shoot outs vs even MM hunters.

Editted Original post with updated gear list and recalculations.

How would you say Hurricane holds up for survival hunters? It just so happens that I've found two in the last few months, and not sure if its any good :p Also - you say the Charmed Ancient Bone Bow is petty good, what about the Upgraded Dwarven Hand Cannon. The gun and the bow seem to be roughly the same - crit and resil being traded for AP and Hit, but with the bigger/better engineering bullets...?

*edit* would you say getting the Enchanted Azsharite Felbane Sword or the Enchanted Azsharite Felbane Dagger Would hold up to the the others? (You can place +65 attack power on the dagger/sword- but im not sure if it a good trade off to the next best XD)

I did math recently with the revelation that ammo will not be consumable some time in the future. There is an ammo drop in BRD off Lord Roccar that would push the Upgraded Dwarven Hand Cannon into "Best in Slot" status over the other weapons regardless of it's lack of a scope. This list was derived before the ammo change was announced. A big thing about SV hunter burst is that it relies alot on fitting Multi Shot and Arcane Shot between two auto shots. Multi-Shot is based on weapon damage, the lower damage range of Hurricane reduces your overall burst potential vs the much slower VKA, CABB and UDHC, despite the higher DPS. The same can be said of MM builds and their use of Aimed Shot.

If you want to use Hurricane, BM is better designed for faster weapon speeds and is great to macro to switch to during Beastial Wrath to give your pet more attacks while giving yourself more hurricane procs.
