Well, we're back. Actually gaining some ground on retail, more than I've ever seen since the MoP days @85. Fair to say I'm very happy at the recent influx of interest on the retail side of things. First thing to note is that normally these tournament have been held in the past with 8 teams (16 people total) I understand there may be more people interested than only 16. With that said, more slots can be added and I will figure out how to host this tournament once I gather the general interest levels. This tournament will take place on Saturday, April 18th at 8 pm EST. This will be the first tournament put on since the release of classic, so we'll see how this goes.
The tournament teams are created via registration on the Challonge website. The link to which will be posted later on in the post. Anyone who's looking for a partner and wants to participate can use the Bnet community group, discord, and this forum to find someone.
Tournament Rules (subject to change):
-8 Teams, 16 people total
-The start of each bo3 and finals match will be played on Nagrand
-No double healer comp
-No use of [Pendant of the Violet Eye] or [Meteorite Crystal]

-Only allowing comp swapping after a loss
-Further clarification later in post
-BO3 up until the finals which will be a BO5
-Double elimination with a losers bracket
Yes, comps such as double ret/double lock were thought of and deemed appropriate for this tournament. Although they are strong, they can be countered with correct counter play. Unlike the last three tournament’s we’re ALLOWING double rogue. This is more an experiment to see whether it’s as broken as theorized.
Important: You are limited to two members to each team BUT NOT TWO CHARACTERS. If after a loss you or your teammate would like to change the comp you are playing you are allowed to do so. As long as the character being switched to is owned by one of the two team members.(yes this gives an advantage to multiclassers and may be subject to change but unlikely due to how badly some comps counter others). For this rule, both teams will whisper me which comp they will be playing significantly (5-10 minutes) BEFORE the match starts so that no class swapping can be decided once teams figure out what the other is playing. If/when a team loses, AND ONLY after a loss, they are allowed to switch to a different comp.
Prizes:
UNKNOWN... Due to this level boost I have spent about 200k on either my new twinks or other people's twinks. I also have quit playing max level so my gold income is virtually 0. A prize is still trying to be formed and funding may be found in places other than my pocket, but as of now this is looking to be a NO PRIZE (JUST GLORY) tournament. Meaning, coming in first will not net you a WoW token like it has in the past.
I am sorry, and I know it makes the games feel different as there isn't an actual reward. I'm hoping interest will still be high due to competitiveness amongst peers.

When you register you need to make sure you create an account on the Challonge website. Once created, think of a team name and register for the tournament. Make sure you have me added on Battle.net services!!! I need to know who you are and who your teammate is so that I can make sure you are there come competition night.
As an added bonus, you are now allowed to VOTE/BET on who you think the winner of the tournament will be. This isn't for anything but a good time and possibly a good drinking game during the matches for any viewers/participators. In order to do this, you need to create an account on the Challonge website and vote for your theorized team.
