Well making 3k gold in 3 days might be hard, however remember to use AH to look after some items for a nice price and re-sell, and for later use too i can recommend the addon Auctioneer, if you don't have it :> very usefull. But if you have a main with good AOE, running higher lvl instances might be a good idea, remember green items also sell well 
Like mail in 40 and plate for 40 you might get a nice price on, some people are willing to buy plate/mail for their warrior/pally when they hit 40 and same goes for shaman/hunter that can use mail then, so you can sell with a nice price :>

1) Get a rare drop and sell it.
2) Use a profession, I run Herb/Alch and lichbloom sells for 50-70g per stack on my servers auction house, thus 3k div by 60 is 50 stacks of lichbloom or 1,000 single lichbloom, it comes in plants of 1-3, avg time on an epic flyer is 1 per 45seconds.
Thus 3,000g if you farm for a constant 12.5 hours or 4.16 hours of farming per day.
3) Do dailys. 13g avg daily..25 dailys, thats 325g per day. the work in most dailys is crazy easy. orcales/frenzy heart, all over icecrown, quite a few in stormpeaks/grizzly hills.

You can make 3k gold in 3 days if you're willing to put the effort into it. If you have gathering profs make sure to farm like crazy and sell everything. Do your dailies. If you have a friend you can run lower level instances with, take them with you to loot everything. That way, you blow through everything and don't have to stop to loot since they're doing it and they get exp. Just let them know you get all cloth and rare/uncommon's to sell for money. Might want to make sure its someone you can trust. The more you farm and sell, the more you make.
Oh, and make the AH work for you. Buy someone elses low stuff and sell it for higher. Set your own prices.
