How viable is a 39 mage FC in pugs at the moment in classic?

It's doable in a pug for sure, but it's too Mana reliant in a bracket with Viper Sting. The best FCs can sustain punishment in a stand and fight situation AND run all over kiting and confusing enemies. Mage can really only do one of those things, but they are damn good at it.

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Been wondering if it’s worth picking up an eagle heavy set or just go for mid control. Thanks for the input.
