3.2 ret paladin

Hey guys,



I was wondering if anyone has done any tests on the best weapon for ret paladins in 3.2. I've been doing some napkin math and i'm coming up with Nightblade being BiS and X'calibour as 2nd. For those that haven't read anything on it SoC is getting changed to 36% static weapon dmg.

you mean this soc change will justify picking a dps weapon rather than a slow max hit weapon? why? the only change as i understood it was that soc will proc on every hit? why dont you want a high topend weapon then? so many queztions?

Was talking about horde yes. Yes the 4.0 speed will be higher burst, but then if you look at AVERAGE weapon dmg of LoA and NB, the NB is slightly higher and also on a 2.8 swing timer (so doing similiar dmg but 1.2s faster then LoA). I don't really play my paladin much, let alone as ret (play lock mostly). Just trying to avoid this thread, turning into the 29 discussion. Mainly trying to decide if its worth actually banking a few NBs now or not.

and yes, this patch is a buff for fast weapons, but it doesnt hipe them so much, that they are generally better than the old BiS items. a pally wielding a mongoosed nightblade will still be a lolret.
