29 fire mage

Heya. Was wondering how fire mages are at 29. I know they can spec into Hot Streak, which makes me think a crit stacking fire mage could do some serious burst. Obviously they'd be squishy, but I'd imagine no more then warlocks are. I'm mainly curious about how hard scorch/pyro hits at 29, and how much crit/sp is feasable for a caster without becoming a complete glasscannon. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your input. I already have a 19 frost though and don't want to play that. If I had an idea of how hard pyro/scorch hit, and how much crit % a caster usually has at 29, it'd help me choose if fire is worth it at all.

I've heard its Frost > Arcane > Fire

Stack crit and go for it, these ppl obviously only consider the best spec as being the only viable spec, try it out and do w'e u want to do

Feuersbrunst @ Dragonmaw - Game - World of Warcraft

This was the only fire mage in the bracket, he refuses to go frost, but gave up on fire, armory should be good for you other than spec.

Keep in mind this guy is enough of a masochist to play a 29 fury warrior, and gave up on fire.

I don't want to be the one to crush your dream but do realize that the spec is suboptimal.

Or maybe people who actually play the bracket are trying to give him good advice.

In other news, plz go horde if you make a fire mage. ;]

You guys need to let him choose which side he wants to play instead of telling him to go the opposite side of you where you can kill him. Fire is pure RNG based and I think you would sacrifice to much of your other stats like HP for crit. If done right you could have fun playing a pure glass cannon but I am not so sure if you like that play style. Also I can not tell you how much scorch and pyro hit for since I do not play a 29 mage. Other 29 mages could tell you how much they hit for if they actually care to answer you instead of telling you "NO AINT GONNA HAPPEN!"

1) Alliance need more players at the moment.

2) Alliance need more average players to even out the skill imbalance.

Does not relate to what he asked. He wants to know how hard scorch and pyro hit for at 29 and if a crit glass cannon set is viable. Not which side needs more players.

In the current environment of 29's if you make a glass cannon on horde all you are going to be is glass, on alliance side you might have a chance to be cannon some of the time.

Let me explain that, horde lacks communication and focus fire, also lacks the brain power to pick targets in many cases. Typicaly horde has alot more randoms lately that don't join vent, alliance does not. You play a fire mage alliance side and more often than not you will be able to get in at least a little free casting, you try it as horde and everyone on the alliance team will know you are LOLGLASSCANNONFIRE before the gates even drop and they will prioritize you accordingly, you will die in a global or you will get a bop and then die in the global after you lose the bop.

Further the best race I can think of for a fire mage is nelf, and that's alliance only.

So yes faction and faction balance is actually relevant to the question.

Fire mages are terrible.

Roll Alliance.

Night elf is only good if you understand how to use shadowmeld properly. Human is the best race if you are going for max stats.

Not entirely. He just wants to know if fire mages are good. Question was answered with not really unless you go glass cannon. Second question deals with how much scorch and pyro hit for. Nowhere does it say which side is best as a glass cannon or which side needs more people. Y'all just interpret that in when all he wants to know is the damage a fire mage can do.

Also to the OP; you may want to give arcane a shot too. They can hit hard with AB and ArcB or silence a healer for 4 secs. If you do plan on going fire though, get the molten armor glyph for more crit when you have your molten armor on.
