24 Priest Help

It's no secret that I have been itching to play again and I have decided to play a little here and there. That said, I have twinks that need retrofitting. I've done some of this already, but I need some input from more experienced twinkers.

I am working on getting a 24 Priest up and running. I will most likely return to Discipline, but right now I'm trying out the power of the Shadow spec.

Check her out in her currently equipped gear and make suggestions.

chardev 10 - Mist of Pandaria - BETA

These question pertain to shadow and my gear:
  1. Is PVP Power and Parachute cloak still better than BOA Cloak (Which I have) or has 5.3 changed that.
  2. I have dual AGM, but I usually have a healer with me. Should I stack INT with the INT trinks like I have in the chardev above?
  3. I also have 2x Argas, should I be using them both or should I be stacking crit and INT.
  4. Bracers... is there anything better out there that I am not seeing on wowhead?
Thanks for any input.

Yes, before I hear the FOTM jeers... I've played a twink warlock through the good and bad for 95% of the 8+ years I have played this game. I deserve to play an OP class for once. At least I don't have a 19 Druid aka the MOPHUNTER.

PS. I am working on trying to get some INT gears from gnomer currently.

Edit: Would my BoA ring be of any use on this toon?

Really well geared. Get x2 int Gnomer ring and you're BiS Glasscannon (imo). Wether you go for int or crit, it depends. Crit will get you more crits (duh) and int will give more SP and thus higher standard hits, but also higher crits. So you decided what you prefer, and go for that.

I still think cloak + 16 PvP power is best, but if 5.4 enchant scaling comes through Para cloak won't be the best cloak anymore.
Those bracers have the highest int there is available on lvl 24.

All in all, really nice gear man :)

Thanks for the input. I think I am going to mix in INT and CRIT. I've armoried a couple 24 spriests and there are a variety of thoughts on the subject apparently.

I've noticed that solo queue pugging, I do much better as disc, but with a healer with me... muhahhahahaha.

its good to see you back!

Thanks!!! I see you are back in action too!

PS. Weird thing on Chardev, I am missing one point in hit. In game, I am capped.

yeah my old druid was Milfish, transferred to darkspear to play end game 90, got bored full tyrannical, nothing to do really so transferred my 19 druid here leveled her to 24 and its all been uphill since.

Yeah, as Disc you're a much bigger addition to your team. Because you're pugging you mostly end of with tards and being a good healer really boosts your team. As Shadow you're mostly just number padding, which is fun too :D. Spriests are looked down upon abit, but being able to throw out Flash Heals to your team mates as Shadow will win you games and get you much more appreciated. But being Shadow and having a good healer stick with you 24/7? That's like... Heaven (but hell for them hehe).

Yeah, I remember your druid. :) I love instant pops in this bracket so much. I don't have a ton of time to play, so when I can get a game whenever I want, it helps.

Ya, I off heal some too, but healing is expensive for the mana pool. I will be honest, I feel really dirty on this toon. 1700 Mindblast crits followed with devouring plaque is quite nasty. Makes me feel like I am cheating...now I know how the Wrath and Cata Hunters felt like. :)

Double int trinkets are fine - you have so many oh crap buttons (fear/bubble/engi) you can switch one insig trink but I doubt you'll need one.

Most shammies don't even purge in this bracket fyi. And psyfiend is almost never targeted.

-50DKP for going to the dark side. /self righteous jeer

Don't you just love when someone runs away, and he/she is about LoS'd you and then you do Mindblast + Devouring and they just flop? I often use my Mana Potions to regain mana, which allows me to throw Flash Heals to team mates. It's basicly always on CD :3

That chardev wouldn't be hit capped unless you're Draenei, Dorf or Human (1% hit/1% expertise with a Mace). BoA ring is a decent way to close that gap if you're Worgen. I'm sure most things die before you have mana issues, but you'd also be free to use 100 mana to chest and stay hit capped with Lorekeeper's Ring - Item - World of Warcraft (I'd probably replace the Argas ring with it).

16 PvP Power adds ~25 damage to mind blast before resil - about equivalent to 12 spellpower on gear. It's also definitely BiS for disc/holy now that healers get 100% benefit from it. It scales really well with the ridiculous base healing most abilities have at this level.

.

1: I think boa cloak is better, however if you want to go completely glass cannon go with parachute.
2: AGM / Battlemaster trinket is the best combo imo, you can throw in int trinkets if you so wish though.
3: Yorgen's Boon - Item - World of Warcraft + Charged gear of intellect is ideal imo. I'd rather use charged gear of eagle over argas due to resistances.
4: Its either the ones you have or Festering Bracers - Item - World of Warcraft

Thanks! I was leaning to the BoA cloak as well, but haven't tried it yet.
I was 0-15 on charged gears last night. :(

Thanks again.

Welcome back to the bracket., Drayner
