19 Priest Guide: 3.3.5.

Rip

OG
Priests are the masters of healing and preservation, restoring their wounded allies, shielding them in battle, and even resurrecting their fallen comrades. While they have a variety of protective and enhancement spells to bolster their allies, priests can also wreak terrible vengeance on their enemies, using the powers of shadow or holy light to destroy them. They are a diverse and powerful class, highly desirable in any group, capable of fulfilling multiple roles.

-World of Warcraft: Priest Introduction.

Priests are arguably the strongest Healer in the 19 Bracket and are a vital part of the composition of any Warsong Gulch team. Apart from their powerful Heals, they are also unique by their strong Dispels and CC.

The Human Spirit

Spirit increased by 3%.

Undead

Shadow Resistance

Reduces the chance you will be hit by Shadow spells by 2%.

Conclusion:

Every Race is a viable choice for a Priest.

But I would recommend Troll (D Priest) or Blood Elf (O Priest/Arenas)/Draenei

Note that the above is not fact, and is just my personal opinion.

Spec/Glyph Selections

Talent Specialization

Priest's don't have many choices when it comes to choosing a spec.

So here is the Cookie Cutter spec.

0/10/0

This is the standard healing spec. It specializes in maximizing your healing potential by increasing the power of your renews and reducing the casting time and pushback of your heals.

Glyph Selections

Glyph of Renew is usually the glyph of choice. However Glyph of Dispel Magic is can be argued as more viable to an Offensive Priest.

Gear

Priests have tons of options when selecting their gear. So all I can do is list the items and have you choose for yourself. There's no right way to play, it's just preference. However if you're at a complete loss, here are my different Gear Sets.

Professions

Priests can't really go wrong in choosing Professions. However I would recommend Herbalism and Mining.

Gathering Professions

Level 19 Twinks are able to learn up to Rank 3 of any gathering Profession.

Mining: Toughness (+7 Stam)

Skinning: Master of Anatomy (+9 Crit Rating)

Herbalism: Lifeblood

Non-Gathering Professions

Engineering is also a viable alternative which provides many bombs and other items to give you an edge in duels and Warsong Gulch.

Jewelcrafting is also a viable alternative due to it's Heavy Stone Statue

Am I the only one that sees no use for Stoneform in the 19 bracket? For priests especially.

Dwarfs can umm...

1v1 Frost Mages/Hunters

and umm FC?

But yeah... I don't see any reason why you'd roll Dwarf.

Never said there was a use. Was just stating how useless they are in the 19 bracket.

You're sprinting away from a warrior/hunter to get off a bandage and you still have a dot on you.

But yeah, dwarfs suck. :p

Bump

To Do List

-Discuss the best WSG Race for Alliance Priests

-Come up with reasons why JC is a viable alternative to Gathering Proffs

-Editing/Clean up

So go ahead and post!

For Alliance twinks, I would have to go with Draenei.

Pros:

Most starting Intellect.

Most starting Spirit.

Gift of the Naaru: free, non-5SR-inducing HoT that increase with Spell Power are good.

Heroic Presence is great, seeing as priests are usually team players.

Shadow resist will make you harder to be CC'd.

Cons:

Lowest starting Stamina...not by much.

All of their Racials (lolgemcutting) are great for priests in WSG. The GotN is just amazing. and undispellable. gg

I've updated and finished it.

So Dear Druiddoid or Natural (or Drayner if he checks back before Monday),

Please move it to the Official Guide Section

I would personally say Human. Balanced starting stats, 2 agms and 2 min trinket, see rogues before you get sapped or ambushed.

I'd agree that they're better for arenas - definitely 1's and 2's at least. In WSG, which is where most twinks play (I only do it for premades and honor-grinding) the stats and survivability of the Draenei seem preferable.

Hey i'm creating a healer for some twink madness on rivendare with my friend...

he's a hunter and with the upcoming changes he'll surely need someone to heal him up. so here i go, the charcater will also be seen on medivh when i decide to start him up.

i read this twink guide and its quite good. covers much of everything that needs to be done.

but i've looked into your builds as of now and i am quite amaze that you didn't think of the Devout Aurastone Hammer and the Furbolg Medicine pouch for your FC build. to me they are quite a must !

heres aurastone hammer stats at 19...

Devout Aurastone Hammer

Binds to accountMain Hand

(15 damage per second)

+3 Stamina

+4 Intellect

Requires level 1 to 80 (19)

Equip: Increases spell power by 15.

quite good if you ask me

too bad the pouch do not allow the use of the healing until level 50 though !

in any case its a nice guide.

maximum spell power goes like this...

Devout Aurastone Hammer + Eerie Stable Lantern

maximum life (FC)

Devout Aurastone Hammer + http://www.wowhead.com/?item=16768

of course the whole staff tricks still works, its just that having 1 staff is simply a waste for priest, they always were better with a main hand and a held in offhand. the staff tricks is more for druids then priest due to that. at least that's what i think !
