EU 101 DH Gearing advice.

Hello,

I've recently got into the 101 category for stopped exp to grind and boost in order to make some gold. I made some basic choices, class, spec and entry level gear.

Unlike many of you, I have limited gold at the moment (specualte to accumulate !) I'm buying as a go according to a medium budget.

I'm 787 and i'm basing my upgrades on the addon Pawn, for the stats.

I'm considering the Siz-Feather Fan (840) to replace Prophecy Tarot (715) or Third Moon Heirloom (725)

However, how important is the trinket, compared to stats and ilvl? I would gain 1100 agility, probably replacing 385 versatility.
On the other hand, Sameed's Vision Ring (840) is a 251% upgrade on one of my 725 rings, bringing 1k Agi and 2K versatility.

Are the trinket procs quantifyable to make some kind of comparison?

In addition, are there any other helpful tools to determine the benefits better than Pawn addon?

What would also be better gemmin and enchanting ? DH mastery also increases Attack Power, but versatility brings raw damage gain

Thanks in advance!

okay I run a twink havoc DH. From my personal experience man, I love mastery. Its pretty awesome to go faster than any other class, but you'd have to hit decently too. I use SFF, Six Feather Fan, primarily as my go to trinket because it scales with mastery and it procs pretty often. I combine that with some Bear Tartare and well it does the work for me to get that extra boost with movement speed. However I haven't toyed with Vengence twinks so I am unsure if its beneficial for you or not. Regardless SFF seems to be the best choice in trinkets for 101 twinks, but that's my opinion.

It would help if you wewre to stat what your spec is to better understand what your DH twink build is. I am sure we as a community will help guide you with what you are seeking.

Sff scales with hDH mastery?

Sff scales with hDH mastery?

wrote it half asleep my bad. I meant it as it stacks pretty well cause usually itll kills things and while under the effects of bear tartare.. gives you a boost in more speed and mobility. I re read it and went wtf, wait no ugh.. my bad. still very useful especially when it targets something really easy to kill.

Thanks for getting back, seems like a nice active forum. Oops, sorry, i didn't realise I hadn't given my spec, yes indeed, i'm playing Vengeance.

Havoc Mastery only affects your chaos damage, so it should not be affecting any trinkets. Vengeance mastery increases attack power. However, i no longer see AP on the stats list to be able to see the real benefits.

I bought the ring, by the way, as it seemed a big upgrade compared to what i had and was just in my current budget. IT increased my versatility by 10%.

I did HFC (M) and the Blademaster dropped, but someone needed, and won it, to spite me when the raid leader wouldn't kick "the noob"
I heard Soul capacitor is good, but the ilvl is fairly low, unless getting a titanforge, with the posibility to upgrade it 2x?

I read other people using the Str or Int trinket for the proc, but logically, doesn't make sense to me not to have stats, or Agi on a trinket. The reason we are doing what we do is because of the high stat scaling, so i must be missing something behind those choices?

I'm currently at 33% Mastery, 33% Versatility and 50% Crit. Most generic advice is to stack Mastery for dungeons and damage and to stack Versatility for raiding to mitigate the spikey dmg intake. However, I don't really suffer from that, but see no real mention of the benefits to both.
The weighting of Versa to Mastery is double, according to Pawn (Which i believe comes form Mr.Robot), indicating that it is twice as useful ? Or do i miss-interpret that?

I'll have a look around the database to see what i cna find regarding trinkets, but would like to know whether stats are of more benefits than certain procs, or whether specific trinkets are OP at distributing damage. 840 SFF with a socket is available on my realm, but out of my budget currently.

Havoc mastery also affects your speed, thats the allure of Havoc Spec. Like I tiredly responded, I apologize. SFF coupled with Bear Tartare helps with speed. its awesome. So youre Vengence, way cool. Be sure to remain in all leather to get a boost in stats as Vengence, it works. Soul Capacitor is an awesome trinket when it actually procs. Wish you luck on your gearing process. Enjoy and have fun bro.

For vengeance go versatility -> mastery. Rest doesn't matter (you have enough haste / crit from the gear available to you).

Trinkets: six feather fan + epic prophecy tarot first. Then kill Kazzak weekly and hope for chipped soul prism (it can proc up to 745, 755 upgraded). Eya (the int boe trinket) is only good for burst, outside of that it's crap.

And keep in mind that you can't really sim versatility as a twink. Because you will profit from the inc. healing and reduced damage too. (for pure dps you can)

You don't have six feather fan yet, right? Use the agility proc trinket from the starting zone until then.

Enchants / gems: Versatility all the way. If you like some extra healing, use Mark of the Ancient Priestess (i like seeing that big number ^^) instead of Trained Soldier for your neck.

No Need to apologise Hiroitchi, I was only trying to make the difference between the way mastery works in both specs, more for myself to understand the benefits of it as tank as to which would be the better stat. Didn't mean anything by that towards you.

Thanks Perfection, I bought the SFF yesterday 840 for about 30k, together with the BoE leather Wrists. I was also lucky enough to get the Soul Capacitor, so i'm running that combo at the moment. I also got the epic Prophecy Tarrot for only a few hundred gold, but i think Soul Capacitor is better with its proc?
I also obtained some 1k agi on proc from HFC as well, but after getting SFF and SoulCap, I think my choice, for now, is obvious.

I burned out my gold from yesterday (made about 50k in a couple of hours farming) So i'll start to gather the neck enchant and another for my second ring.
Do you have any experience on the best neck enchant for damage? There is mastery with run speed, trained soldier and i think also mark of the claw?

I think indeed Versa is the way forward, but looking for some confirmation from anyone who had experience already. Of course, gems are not so expensive to swap in and out compared with gear parts if I had made "the wrong" choice to begin.

812 now after a few days. The soul Capacitor really makes an impact, I struggle for damage on the dungeon bosses, they take me between 1.5 - 3 minutes, depending on the mechanics (the rock boss in NL for example).

Healing is not an issue at all, the Soul Cleave numbers are already crazy.

I played 2 101 vengeance and 2 102 vengeance for a couple of months. So I'm a bit experienced in that area, i guess. :)
Tbh it doesn't really matter which gems you are using, even haste or crit. You don't feel / see a difference in performance. In theory versa is a bit stronger, so ...

Do you have any experience on the best neck enchant for damage?
Hidden Satyr is the best dps one.

Hidden Satyr? roger that.
I didn't know whether the stats scaling was better than the proc dmg. There is also some raining arrow one (Claw?). Similar discussion to the trinket choice of stas vs proc / effect.

Yep, i got the bloodhunter, since i heard it was really good. Since it only works on BoE and i started low budget, i forced a set of cloth shoulders untili can raise 45k for the leather ones. I read about some BoE shoulders from The Wardens, but it doesn't exist...it's a cape. Otherwise, i need rep for the ones in Val'Shara. I should look into the ilvl compared to the BoE ones before forking out the cash vs rep grind.

It seems to proc every hour or so,despite some people claiming it had been taking longer. Of course, best combined with large pulls to maximise the content of the container. (i've had up to 5 before)

Snapped a pair of legs with a socket and 566 avoidance, together with a 6FF with 432 avoidance and a socket for 60k combined. Nice upgrade on my basic set, now avoidance capped 20% :)

Thanks for the tips, now looking for luck on Helmet, maybe legs and belt and ofc, the ellusive relics.

I personally see no use for Pawn in this level bracket. It's not like there's tons of choices in certain slots, it's very easy to put together and obtain a full BiS gear set. Stick with full leather gear for Vengeance, you will gain no benefit from the amount of Agility you will lose while using cloth gear, Havoc gains that benefit. Gems and Enchants? Stick with Versatility 100% of the time, it's by far your best stat. I would highly advise picking up Engineering for the leather helm, you can get up to 963 Versatility with it. As far as trinkets go, drop the Soul Capacitor for something more useful like the Chipped Soul Prism or my personal favorite, Mirror of the Blademaster. Soul Capacitor has received a huge nerf to it's single target damage output and makes it obsolete these days. The AoE burst is quite lack luster these days as well... in the time it takes for Soul Capacitor to ramp up, I can have the pack of mobs more than half dead or nearly dead by that point, making it do a whole lot of unnecessary overkill damage.

If you need any more information or want me to show you a few things in game, feel free to add my Battle Tag: Ethos#1595.

Happy Twinking! :D

Nice, thanks for the input.

Based on my own feelings and the confirmations of others, i'm stacking versa for everything. I also notice Pawn is not a good indicator, for example a "15% upgrade" is only an upgrade because it has leech, for example, but as Vengeance, i definately do not need leech.

The trinkets are really luck based. Week 1, I missed out on the Blademaster just because someone didn't want me to have it. I didn't yet see the prism and only got the Soul Cap to go with for the moment. We will see what Wednesday brings ! It's great for dong dungeon runs, but i'm definately slowed down on the boss fights, depending on the encounter. when possible, i try to take multiple mobsto the boss and "burst" on proc.

Sure, if you're on EU, i can also throw you a friend request. Would also be nice if people are doing any events together or sharing some knowledge.

Unfortunately Soul Capacitor doesn't work like that anymore, they reworked it somehow. I've dragged tons and tons of mobs to a boss before and when it explodes, it one shots all the mobs and barely tickles the boss. Also, I'm on US, sorry about that. :p
