Like Snowjobs said, it basically depends on what you're looking for. Population wise, AP wins. Because of that, other less-populated servers offer a closer community which often leads to a more enjoyable experience. All depends on what you want out of your playtime.

I believe you need a p2p account to create a f2p account linked under the same e-mail. If you already have a p2p you can just go to the battle.net account page and add a trial account. I'm not sure if you can have multiple f2p accounts linked, but I don't believe it's possible.

I would say use Cruel Barb if you're not hit capped, Thief's Blade if you're hit capped and subtlety, and Legionnaire's Sword otherwise.
