EU+US Melee nerfed at 19

Revoman

Grandfathered
Just thought I'd share this with everyone. I logged on my rogue today to find it have x84% damage modifier which is significantly lower. My ambushes are critting for like 500 less damage. I'm not sure how this will affect 19's but some melee got severely nerfed while others were slightly nerfed.
Here is blizzard's official post:
Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve rolled out a series of hotfixes aimed at improving overall pacing and playability of the low-level (1-20) experience. We started by adding a number of modern conveniences to our low-level quest experience, and will continue to roll these improvements forward across other legacy content in the future. We’ve also made some improvements to the overall pace of combat at low levels: Due to the accumulated effect of years’ worth of max-level tuning adjustments, many classes were killing low-level enemies nearly instantaneously, even without heirloom gear or other advantages. A summary of the hotfixes follows:

  • Most quest bosses from level 1-20 should now be multitap and will scale their health with the numbers of players fighting them.
  • Added dynamic respawn behavior to most level 1-20 outdoor areas, so that spawns will be more readily available during times of high player traffic.
  • Players who die in low-level dungeons should now release to the entrance of the dungeon, consistent with the practice in dungeons from more recent expansions.
  • Level 1-10 enemy NPCs now deal slightly more damage.
  • Reduced the bonus to out-of-combat health regeneration that players receive when below level 20.
  • Reduced player damage at low levels to improve overall combat pacing. In general, Strength and Agility classes saw a larger reduction in damage than did casters. Damage dealt is unchanged from level 40 onwards.
edit: I've only seen the nerfs to rogues so if anyone else has anything to add please do so!!

Moran had a nice post where he took a ss of his rogues and their reduced damage. Wonder if other people could take similar ss's so we could see how they all differ. Would be interesting to see how much scaling there actually is and how much it will effect games.

If dmg gets nerfed legion might be even better than i thought. Hopefully low levels get some interesting rotations this time around

Great time for a meta change...

But really the changes sounds really good, the timing is just a bit off

Basically you wear as much Versatility to offset the nerf, which makes complete sense. I tried one of my rogue sin all 3 specs, and the new rogue rogue spec is assassination. I was 84% damage with both Sub and combat, but 98% as assassination as long as I had a dagger equipped.

I don't get why the changes only affect 40 and below. The problem is exactly the same at 70 - melee damage generally stronger than caster damage.

I was stoned af when i read this and did not realize op meant this already is in effect kek i thought this was gonna happen during pre patch

It's interesting that different specs have different multipliers...

vers changes the multiplier and most melees stack vers anyway will be interesting to see what comes of this but monks and warriors seem least affected

casters seem to be nerfed too

my level 20 hunters are showing 103% and dmg is green, however BM, rogue show red % modifiers

freind logged various players some in 20-24 are green others red. his 39's are showing damage white, no +/- % modifiers on a warrior and res druid. his 19 lock, mage, ret, druid , rogue vary with a 6-24% nerf

few classes were above 100%, also vers increase so if u wanna see what u rly got unequip items with it

The different multipliers are because those specs had modifiers to their damage to begin with. This is still the same as before.

So does this mean that we do +3 Stats on Bracers instead of agility if we are trying to stack as much Versatility?
