stam stacking is really only used for people pushing bleeding edge content in lower gear (people like paragon, ej, ensidia, etc). for regular content tanks the stam on gear is enough in almost all cases and allows you to stack other stats, for example agility is best for druids in all red slots, and blues too (but you can do a shifting if you want a good socket bonus) and in yellow unless you want a dodge/stam gem. druids also reforge hit/exp/haste to dodge.

the difference between stam stacking and avoidance/threat (at least for bears) is pretty small and either way works, but its acknowledged the WotLK days of blindly stacking stam are gone.

now for BC raiding you could stack stam super high, get like 28-30k fully raid buffed or whatever, but whats the point. you arent in danger of dying with that much hp, you can live with much less. so you might as well gem str/agi (depending on class) and get more threat. raises the threat ceiling for dps, especially nice if youre bringing 85s or whatever, surprise them but doin a shit ton of tps ;)

I will try gem everything with 15 stam 10 str gems and get better dps weapon.

Edit: Berserk enchant would be nice threat boost? 5% armor is almost nothing...

Berserking for a tank is an absolute no-go, don't go there.

On the stamina vs. threat vs. avoidance topic.

Firstly, I have no clue how threat is for level 70 warriors compared to how much threat DPS'ers generate. You don't want to be in the situation where DPS'ers have to hold back their damage on boss encounters. You should only gear for threat (eg. threat gems or a threat trinket) when you find yourself in that sitution.

Although, if you are not in this situation where you constantly struggle keeping agro on bosses and your threat is always way up there, you have three options:

1) Gear for avoidance

2) Gear for stamina

3) Gear for a mixture of avoidance/stamina

This mainly comes down to personal taste. As a former main tank of a raiding guild, I always geared for full stamina on progress situations. Especially at level 70 right now, where mana isn't a big concern for healers, it's very effective to go all out on stamina. Doing this also gives the healers less stressful moments. You can effectively take 2-3, or maybe even more, hits from a boss without dying. Once stuff is on farm, you are safe to go for some avoidance in the mix. Again, personal taste. I used to start matching socket colors to get the socket bonusus. Using dodge/stamina for yellow, and at this point of the game, strength/stamina for red.

TLDR: While NEVER having threat issues on bosses: Full stamina for progress, mixture of stamina/avoidance on farm status. If you do have threat issues: gear for a bit of threat.

as a pve hero, i can firmly say that tanks who gem for strength are giggled at when inspected, and berserking on a tank is not a good idea at all

if you are having threat issues, take a look at your tanking rotation to make sure it makes sense, and tell your raid to watch their fucking threat meter. warriors were hands down the best single target tanks in BC, so you should not have any problems unless your raid is being dumb.

still seems like you could get away with a lot less stam stacking than that warrior and get either pure threat or get some avoidance. socket bonuses are pretty much not worth it unless youre getting every little +4 stam like that dude/chick. also, weapon chain? do bosses disarm? going back to enchants too...berserker could work for pure threat. not the smartest move but its really only 5% armor...tanks were doing it at 80 in icc, so i dont see why not in swp at 70, especially after all the boss nerfs and player buffs there has been since BC
