No More Character Specific Achievements Tracking

Achievement Hunting
With patch 11.1, a less talked about stealth change was implemented: account wide achievements, everywhere.

The reconfiguration of the guild pannel's achievement tracker, in other words. It used to display the specific character's achievement points you had. Now, it displays your account wide achievements.

In the low level twinking achievement hunting community, many of us used an addon also to display our character specific achievements, but it has been obsolete now since 2024, with no new updates since and I guess 11.1 broke it (might have been using the guild panel coding to feed the addon value).

And lastly, despite having enabled in settings to display Characters Specific progress on our Armory link, it now only shows account wide progress.

Unless I'm missing something, there is no longer any way to see or display our character specific achievement points

This obviously does not affect many. However, those that are affected have had their entire grinds, and sometimes their soul purpose of playing/pushing the limits wiped off from the game into irrelevance.

How high did you guys get to before this change happened?

I started being interested in achievements late in the game, but managed to get 6700+ on my level 10 alone.

That was certainly a niche thing, and I don't remember how many achievement points I was up to on my level 20 since the last time I paid attention to it was years ago. It was certainly fun for a bit to see how high I could push achievement point up on a vet character. I can't even hazard a guess at how much I had if the guild display for character specific achievement points is gone. Could be anywhere between 5000-8000 for all I know!

I'm sorry for you true F2P'ers who's primary acct. is linked.
You've been robbed yet again.

I honestly didn't even know this was a thing, I only care about the acc number though
Even though I do 99% of the achievements on my Shaman
Probably the better approach honestly, prevents Blizzard from doing Blizzard things like this!

At least your f2p acc wasn't linked to a subbed main account!

Yeah, this was an infuriating change. I found this out the hard way a little while ago.

Here's my use case: I realized there was a pocket of quests I hadn't done. I had spread out my Loremaster achievements across toons. Basically, each zone quest achievement meant I levelled another toon. This was in SL and not all zone quest achievements were created equal. Like I might be able to do 4 zones 10-60. But Northrend had a ton of quests per zone. Icecrown alone took one of my toons from 10 to 58 IIRC.

Anyway, imagine I hadn't finished some of these. How would I find who had partial completion? Because another toon can't step in. Quests have prerequisities. Previously I just looked at who had partial achievement progress (via Altoholic) or who had earned the achievement.

There is not.

I have ~29k achievement points. I finished Loremaster, which was a big one for me, back in DF.

There are some good parts to this though. For example getting 100 treasures in Draenor now has account wide progress. For me, I had a few on many characters and these all got added together. nice.

Still, it sucks to track Loremaster with this change and even tracking who has Reputations requires addons.
