Difference between 10 and 11?

There's 3 main reasons from what I've noticed:

- You get a specialization talent point.
- You get ~200 more hit points.
- Stat scaling is almost identical.

Thinking about making a fwar too and it seems like they need to be 11 for Titan's Grip.

depends on preference. what you get or want at X-level from expac to expac that makes your class/spec viable. or breaks your class, this makes some classes at 10 unviable. during the WOD epic farm era, you would see alot of classes/specs at 11+ like priests, mages. at that time alot of fury wars went 14, now many rerolled to 11, some were 10 and stayed 10. i have no issues with my 10 fury, sure it would be better at 11 and then what happens next expac they go 12, 13, 14, etc again. i do not follow the jones theory. "the jones are doing it so i must too" so right now you have alot of players rolling 11s in specs and classes they don't really have to. i do not follow the level 10 cult, which considers 11+ being crutchers

Yeah I mean I wouldn't say I'm a jones theorist but I am in the business of min maxing my twink, but most people are so I guess I could see that falling into the jones theory. I ended up opting into hitting level 11. It gives me blood thirst and titan's grip. I seen a lot of level 10 fury warriors doing the 2x one handers which I honestly forgot was even an option. But I think i'll enjoy 11 just a bit more :)

Seems like a lot of people are split between 10 and 11 but im not sure why anyone would go to 11?
So there are two aspects to this:
  1. 11 gear has more stats than 10 gear;
  2. 11s can have skills and a talent point in their spec tree that a 10 doesn't.
So for Fury Warriors, they get Titan's Grip at 11. The only talent that really matters is War Machine and you get that at 10.

But here's the kicker: testing has shown that if you are less than 25% into 11 the mobs scale as if you were 10. No idea why. No idea if it'll last. But the current meta is to immediately XP lock upon dinging 11.

Oh, and for completeleness, the snarky answer to your question is "1" (the difference between 10 and 11). :)

This is not the mentality nor true. L advice for beginners asking questions.

Level 10 players are pure but that's really it. Those who were once level 10 and decided to stay level 10 even after finding out made their choice. However 95% of level 10s are running it due to ignorance, and mostly likely OP did not know the difference either. Level 11 is mathmatically better currently on ALL classes even though this may change in the future.

The fastest dungeon clear time on any spec and any class is going to be done on an 11 due to equal scaling and increase in avalible base stats.

Not to get too terribly meta, sentimental or sincere here but its always worth asking yourself *why* youre twinking.

Are you building a twink as a tool with which to power level alts/gain TW badges? Its 11, all the way down. For now. Turn your XP off *immediately* upon hitting 11, enjoy no adverse scaling and better stats/gear

It's possible (very possible) in the future that this changes. You'd need to be willing to abandon or level this toon and rebuild from scratch if (when) that happens. Level 11 wont be the speed clear meta forever, so you're signing up to always meta chase with new levels, new gear demands, new class preferences, etc. Some people really enjoy that.

But are you twinking as an exercise in exploring low level play? As a part of the continuous, shared history of the playstyle? Are you wanting to be a part of the grand twinking narrative? Are you looking to build a "forever" toon? Its 10s. Its a storied bracket, its got a long history, recognizable names, hilarious stories, a whole culture. Not quite as popular as its used to be but there's a history to latch onto there if you want.

Basically, taking a step back and looking at twinking from a 10,000 ft view, 11s are a fad. 10s are a true subculture.

Well said!

lvl 10 enh shaman
- no stormstrike
- no windfury
:(
lvl 11 enh shaman
-stormstrike
-no windfury
lvl 13 enh shaman
-stormstrike
-windfury if u take it.

I cant imagine playing enh shaman with just primal strike when you dont even have windfury to constantly proc off it. 10-11 10-15 10-20 kind of comes down to what the most fun to play for me.

Just wanna kill stuff fast, Power level through dungeons, Meta chase and so stuff optimally and efficiently. I've got characters on my account that are about old enough to graduate high school. I'm not worried about creating new long term characters.

Agree, Played a major factor in me hitting level 11. I wanted Bloodthirst and titan's grip xD even if they're not the most necessary.

If I'm not mistaken enhancement now gets stormstrike at level 10 on top of being able to use it with a shield equipped.

And the new 1st enh talent is maelstrom weapon which for some reason requires level 12 to work so you prolly wont get much more from an 11 enhance.

But let's be real why would you play anything other than a 20 ;)

If your 10-segment experience bar has less than 25% filled, then you are still considered to be 1 level lower to mobs and bosses* and their level is adjusted accordingly. This is true at any level (a reason why FTP's may still want to turn off experience on their 20's which precludes them from RBG's).

*dungeon bosses and mobs will not be adjusted lower than the minimum level requirement of the dungeon or area
