Wondering what other people do when timewalking ends on twinks? Just work on gearing toons and creating other twinks? or am i missing something

I'm curious, what prompts you to create a twink? Like has someone told you about it? Have you seen videos or whatnot? Have you been twinking awhile ago and just came back to it?

XP locking was put in 2009? Before that people would line up items they wanted to get, stay at lvl X and fight eachother outside Org. So it's just the song that never ends, shit shit goes on and on my friends. Some people started twinking it for ever just because and they'll continue twinking it for every just because this is the song that never ends, shit shit goes on and on my friends. To be fair a lot of us play on trial accounts so we basically do whatever we want (within our not so limiting limitations).
Now since I see you tagged the thread as a 10s one and you mostly did TW, I'd guess you hopped on the fury fueled frenzy from those last months.

You have a lot of options really, keep playing a busted 10/11 only in levelling dungeons now, try a 20 (it's litterally free), try the PvE side of things, collections, maybe PvP, ...

You fix your limits ^^

Used to have a monk lvl 11 a whilleee ago, i just enjoy going through the dungeons, farming the TW badges and i use it on a new account to level my main alts up, or help friends level, its end of season right now so these last few weeks ive been bored and this has been keeping me occupied for the past 2 weeks or so, i was thinking of doing a level 30 for raids since i have game time right now, but eventually i plan to just stay f2p after these 30 days and explore that side of the game, idk its just something fun to do

I basically answered this in the other comment too, but used to have a lvl 11 monk, just like messing around on it and helping people level, and w/ TW badges i find a use for farming those

I would imagine most 11's are gonna mothball their twinks

But if you dont want to because you've become a little attached to your toon, post TW event would be the time to start really perfecting your gear. Namely, farming speed procs on socket gear but also updating any "good 'nuff" gear you're currently using. I saw an awful lot of budget twinks in my TW runs and its fucking painful watching those guys strugglebus their way through dungeons. The difference between some run-of-the-mill dipshit 11 and someone geared like @wackytabaccy or @BoatsAndHoes is profound. So its worth it to spend some time on gear.

After that, I dunno.

If you got a taste for twinking, I'd highly recommend building a F2P toon. Its a lot of work and time investment before you'll even sniff BIS but its also very fun to just have that kind of a project laying around to work on. And once you finish your toon, you get to be a smug asshole and look down your nose at lesser twinks with their AH and mail boxes and trade access. Cowards.

I was gonna give my answer on the topic but honestly, Chops said it best. I got nothing to add.

currently farming for BiS chestplate, got BiS helm and necklace with SL speed gems already, gonna just keep farming for gear and doing TW, also want to gear up a twink on horde side as well, so that will be another goal of mine, I was just in general curious, im having a blast farming the old content for items and getting better lol

LOL i just got the shoulders and belt from underbog both on my first run ever, amnesia dropped first time ever from the non-rare mob, crazy luck

I always found this question kind of amusing, because the same thing could be said of max level characters after they've completed the current content: What do they do?

They grind gear one way or another, waiting for the next patch to drop; and after that point the next expansion.

But where as max levels have to watch their gear get reset every expansion, twinks on the other hand often do not. If anything each expansion tends to bring in a some new element to further gear up your character. That aside the grind for "BiS" is pretty much impossible, since you're looking to proc +speed on TBC gear; and you need a good deal of luck for the correct piece of gear to drop, let alone have it proc +speed as well. Even worse for the belt currently to have it proc sockets AND +speed.

The grind itself amusingly has changed over the years as well. I remember when some BiS was going for world drops and having them proc epic, the endless farming of WoD dungeons in hope of the warforged + socket + speed/leech, and now we've been farming TWing dungeons for weapons and trinkets. Course there's an expected nerf to TWing gear in the near future, so the meta will shift once again.

The only real big hit I think that twinking took throughout it's history was when F2P 20s got thrown in with the 29 xpoffs. That essentially killed both communities in a single blow. I know I haven't qued for PvP in ages simply because getting 1 shot by 29s every match got old real fast.

If you got the three socket belt on your first run that is extremely lucky, took me 500 runs

oh the belt can proc three sockets? i guess all the items can proc three? and 2 is just base? sorry i’m new to this so i guess not bis

Is TW going to end at some point? I was under the impression it would just keep rotating...
