US Shadowfang Keep it

After a lot of runs, I have come to the conclusion that gathering a group of mobs and killing it afterwards greatly decreases your RNG drop chance. If you kill specific packs of 2-5, you will have a higher chance of getting the rare stuff. I had an argument with my cousin about this and we tested it, and saw results.

Correct. Works all the time, but I heard a rumor about Gloom droping only from lvl 20+ mobs, many people have seen it drop from Stone Sleepers (gargoyles) than any other mob.

So do we essentially waste our time killing other mobs and should instead just attack the ones who drop gloom?

Not correct. Even if Gloom dropped from x and y mob, there is no reason not to kill z mobs on the way. It for sure increases the drop chance of other items, which may increase your profit.

I got a total of 12 shadowfangs, 0 glooms. I think I averaged about 1 shadowfang per 75 runs. Its all RNG, it could take 5 or 500 runs.

Or 1 run for 1 SF and 1 Gloom... literally happened to my cousin. I obv got mad!

I've got 2 Shadowfangs in the course of gearing twinks. I got a Gloomshroud, on my hunter, when I ran a dungeon, out of boredom, one day. I actually ended up losing the roll to a leveler, but I pm'ed him and told him how rare it was, how much it would cost me if I were to try and buy one unbound off the AH, and how much it would mean to me if I could have it. He gave it to me. Very nice guy. One of my best dungeon experiences.

Totally balanced out the time that hunter ninja'ed the SF.
