Short Warlock experience and comp overview
Hey over a 7 month period I got back into playing warlock and it has been a fun experience.
The one thing wod has that the other xpacs didn't was casters being the most dominate in arenas.
I was told by fael wizkidone hydox lankypuss bop and others in mop to make a lock or mage and try playing that instead of war rogue or hunter. In 5.4 I played a Balance Druid and had a lot of success with the comp LSD 2.o which is normally Rsham Boomie Warlock
priest works with this comp aswell. This is a little montage I put together of some of the games which was really challenging and fun to play.
One of the biggest challenges of playing warlock is knowing when you will truly die and when you will need to pop heals. I played mage and I noticed how warlock has a lot less mobility and outs vs melee when destruction. I played a lot of aflition lock in cata but I also played demo in cata because fel guard was fun to have. I started off playing that demo lock LSD 2.0 and had success. I knew at some point I would need to focus more and learn how to use a destruction warlock properly. When a Balance Druid is Synced with a destruction warlock the damage comes in harder than most melee's in warlords of draenor. Starsurge lined up with chaos bolt into a bite or bear form dps is a strong utility LSD 2.0 has, it caught even wizkidone off guard.
RLS or RLP Rogue Warlock Rsham/Priest is a pretty well known comp but it has to be played to near perfection to have a chance vs many comps. I am forchant to know rogues such as Shreadqt Original and 1 advantage no1 would really pay attention to is I have had a lot of practice vs RLS and Mage Lock because of wizkidone fael and Flynn. I must tell the truth and its pretty funny that when I first saw a decent played RLS I lost to wizkid about 5 or 6 times straight before understanding the cc chains is what make the comp successful. Once you are able to disrupt the locks fear or get the healer on his toes healing you should be able to beat RLS/RLP.
Similar to Wizkid Riza and Faels play style the rogue Original likes going full mongo on healers and yes even Phron the shaman.
I recommend not playing RLS/RLP if your rogue is not on a level on or beyond Great at understanding rather to DPS or CC.
Things move fast but you will notice that Original is watching very carefully when I start cc chains and he is actually able to fake teams out into thinking he is chasing a dps then turn around on healer with a kick or arcane torrent.
Ret Lock shaman is a very odd comp that is not really ran a lot for the simple reason there are more ways to lose than win with this comp.
If ret is forced to heal all game you are likely to lose. If ret has to use cds to save warlock he is going to be the new kill target and that does not sit well. This comp is hella fun tho for any warlock when u have watergun or original healing and bop or letsfight on ret. You get to do a lot of stuff u cant do with RLS like just boast damage into the other team. One tricky thing about warlock in some comps like Ret Lock Sham is people are so focused on killing your pet or healer is scared and trying to avoid cc that they fall behind on heals and ret lock can lower the boom.
I don't think I need to say much about MLS and MLP because they are simply top 5 if not top 3 comps in the game as of now.
I like 3v3 tourneys but im not sure id enter if Wizkids MLP shows up - maybe if cer oldspike and bop played id sign up because they might eliminate em but sitting back and watching those 2 go at it would be more entertaining anyway.
